    4. So glad to see Catherine smiling and nicely dressed for this Christmas time. She must have had a lot of COURAGE. However I feel sad, when going through the blog.
This post about Catherine got 29 comments, as per today. The post about Meghan (2 days ago) got 87 comments !! Is that normal, bearing in mind Meghan is so highly controversial ?!
In fact, today I checked the number of comments over there, but did not read any. I took the decision, about 1 year ago, no longer reading neither posting about her.

    5. MaryT, you give the answer yourself: Meghan is highly controversal. Thus the amount of comments.

MaryT and Coralie - It is so strange to see Meghan mentioned as controversial. She hasn't lived in or been to, or spoken about, Britain or the royal family in years now. She's simply living her live in California, minding her own business, doing charitable works, raising her children, etc. So, she had a bad experience as a member of the royal family and spoke about it. And left it at that. The hate against someone who is simply living and loving her life, husband and children is just so bewildering to me. What real controversy has she caused of late, besides those manufactured by the British press while Meghan is having fun at the beach with her kids, or walking through her orange grove, or visiting a charity event? So strange.

    7. Anonymous 21:28, to say that someone is controversal is not "hate".

    8. Anon 21.28 Meghan has indeed distanced herself from the royal family and seems to be focusing on her family and charitable work. The ongoing attention from the media, especially the British press, often seems to focus more on past issues rather than her current life. It's a shame when personal choices and past struggles are turned into constant controversy, especially when someone is simply trying to live peacefully. It does feel like much of the narrative is driven by outside forces rather than anything she's actively doing today...but again Wallis Simpsons reputation follows her even today.

  3. The coat is beautiful. I don't really like the black bow, but she looks nice. I would just like to see more of the beautiful tartan skirt. The earrings are wonderful.

I think that beautiful skirt is a rewear: https://www.vogue.com.au/fashion/news/kate-middleton-gets-festive-in-a-tartan-emilia-wickstead-skirt/news-story/c3546e0d5045fc242d8d352198c67702

  4. Everyone looked lovely! Catherine looked festive in red, and I loved seeing her Christmas tartan skirt peaking out of the coat (just didn't love the big bow at her neck, but that's my personal taste). Beatrice's look was a show-stopper IMO - marriage agrees with her! It was good to see Lady Gabriella as well, what a hard year she had had.

When is princess Beatrice's due date? And who are the girls with green coats? Everyone looks good and the event looks very cozy 😊

    1. The girls in the green coats are the daughters (Maud and Isabella) of Lord Frederick Windsor and his wife Sophie née Winkleman. Princess Beatrice will give birth most likely in February.

    2. They are Maud and Isabella Windsor, daughters of Lord Frederick and Lady Sophie. Gorgeous family. I love the understated rich green of their coats. (Somebody correct me if Sophie's title is higher than Lady)

The girls in green coats are the granddaughters of Prince and Princess Michael of Kent. They are the children of their son Lord Fredrik Windsor who is on the right of the photo, with his wife Sophie Winkleman on the left of the two girls.
Prince Michael of Kent is Queen Elizabeth II first cousin, together with Prince Edward, Duke of Kent and Princess Alexandra who are all siblings. There are other first cousins too from other branches of the family, such as Prince Richard, Duke of Gloucester who with his wife the Duchess, do a lot of work to support King Charles III.

Why wouldn't she, if the coat still fits ? Rewear is fashionable and a good exemple to give by the royals...

    2. Anon 22.17 Catherine definitely has that festive, elegant vibe down—she does look like the perfect Christmas gift! As for Charlotte, it's true that she often wears similar styles and colors, but I think it's sweet how she has her signature looks for the season. It gives her a timeless, classic charm, and the consistency in her outfits makes them even more endearing year after year.

  8. Catherine is certainly her mother's daughter. She is so well groomed and dressed impeccably and she makes sure that her family follows suit. Everyone looks so nice, not a hair out of place. Wow I'm in awe.

Duchess Sophie's outfit looked not christmassy to me. A short white jacket and a dress or skirt in a thin fabric. Was it that warm in London ? All the other are wearing a winter outfit.

    1. It does seem like Duchess Sophie’s outfit was a bit lighter compared to the others, especially given the time of year. London can sometimes have milder weather during the winter months, but it’s possible she opted for something more comfortable or suited to an indoor event. It's also worth considering that royal engagements often involve a mix of formal dress codes, and Sophie may have chosen something that fit the occasion in a different way than the others.

Catherine looks pretty and I’m glad to see her looking well. Her outfit is appropriately cheerful and festive, but I don’t particularly care for the bow near her neck; in the picture with the clergymen, she looks almost like she is twinning with them. I do wonder if it’s the same bow she wore on Remembrance Sunday. I think Lady Gabriella looks incredibly elegant and polished; I like her overall look the best.

Beautiful look from Catherine--Christmas red coat and the Wickstead tartan skirt is beautiful. Catherine looks gorgeous. Love that William and the boys are dressed alike with the Christmas red ties. Charlotte is getting so tall--like her traditional berry colored coat. How fabulous so many family members turned out to support Catherine's program. Beatrice and Zara are stunning! Zara's trouser suit is the best of some really stellar outfits. Wonderful seeing Prince Michael and his family out supporting this event--especially Gabriella given how terrible this past year (and the last few weeks in particular) has been for her.

Where was her father-in-law and her mother-in-law?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. It's unclear why Catherine's father-in-law, Prince Charles, and her mother-in-law, Camilla, were absent from the Christmas carol service. However, it's possible they had other commitments or engagements that conflicted with the event. The royal family often has multiple events and responsibilities during the holiday season, so it's not uncommon for certain members to miss individual gatherings. It's also worth noting that Catherine's carol service is typically associated with her own initiatives, so not all family members are always in attendance.

The burgundy velvet suit is pretty; but velvet is a heavy fabric and makes Zara Tindall look wide in the waist and hips. The Lord Frederick family is beautifully attired in tartan and coordinating green coats for the young girls. And of course the Duchess of Gloucester looks softly elegant.
