On December 10, 2024, King Carl XVI Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Crown Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine of Sweden, and Christopher O'Neill attended the traditional Nobel Prize Banquet held in honor of the 2024 Nobel laureates in the Blue Hall of Stockholm City Hall.
In addition to the members of the Royal Family, the prize winners and their families, as well as representatives from the Swedish Government and Riksdag parties, attended the banquet. The Nobel Prize Banquet is held annually at the City Hall following the Nobel Prize ceremony.
At the 2024 Nobel Prize ceremony, Crown Princess Victoria dazzled in a gown by Swedish designer Christer Lindarw. Princess Madeleine chose a stunning green gown by designer Fadi el Khoury, while Princess Sofia wore an elegant dress by Danish designer Søren Le Schmidt.
On the occasion of the 2024 Nobel celebrations, the Swedish Royal Court released a new family photo featuring King Carl Gustaf, Queen Silvia, Princess Victoria, Prince Daniel, Prince Carl Philip, Princess Sofia, Princess Madeleine, and Chris O'Neill.
Beautiful photos. The family photo looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous family photo. And what a fantastic photo of Madeleine’s green gown from the back, wow. Love this yearly occasion, it certainly would make the recipients feel special that the royal family takes the time and effort to look their best in their honour. All the ladies have beautiful gowns.
ReplyDeleteOk, so seeing the massive train on Madeleine´s gown: I know this is the most festive night of the year in Sweden but that train is a bit too much. It has the shape of a bridal gown and the drama of a hollywood red carpet appearance, but I don´t think it hits the right tone for the nobel banquet. Silvia´s gown is also a bit "out there", so I think Victoria and Sofia scored highest in terms of regal elegance.
ReplyDeleteI think Princess Madeleine’s gown is a stunning choice for such a glamorous occasion like the Nobel Banquet. The dramatic train adds to the festivity and elegance of the night, fitting the celebratory mood. It’s a bold and striking look that certainly stands out, which is part of the fun of such a special event!
DeleteVictoria and Ebba was best dressed this evening!
ReplyDeleteWho is Ebba?
DeleteEbba Busch is a Swedish politician and party leader. A quite stylish lady. Her outfit was argueably the most flamboyant at this year´s Nobel gala.
DeleteWhere is Princess Christina? I miss seeing her at the banquet. S.M.
ReplyDeleteHer sister Princess Birgitta passed away recently / Maja
DeleteIs that really Madeleine? I hardly recognized her face.
ReplyDeleteWhat Princess Madeleine was thinking ? Put her sister the crown princess in the shadow ? Her dress is beautiful but the long train it has, is too much. Not even a smile on the 11th picture. Lucky Princes Victoria is the heir to the trone, at least she looks much more friendly and a hard worker, who is taking over from her father more and more lately.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with the idea that Princess Madeleine is trying to overshadow her sister. Her dress, while dramatic with the long train, is stunning and certainly fits the occasion. As for the lack of a smile in one picture, I think it's just a moment captured—people’s expressions can vary, and it doesn't necessarily reflect her mood or intentions. Princess Victoria is indeed a hardworking and warm presence, but both sisters have their own unique qualities that deserve appreciation.

DeletePrincess Victoria is the crown princess, the heir to the trone. If she was my sister I wouldn't wear a dress that is flamboyant and had a long train. It gives me the feeling of "m'as-tu-vu", her husband is looking bored on every picture I see from him during these Noble Prize days.
I have grown a little tired on Princess Sofia's tiara. I know she made it a versatile piece by swapping out the top gem stones to match her dresses, but still, knowing that the Swedes generally do share most tiaras and jewels. I just wish for her to bust out a different piece. Perhaps tonight at the King's Dinner in the Palace. One can but hope. Please!
ReplyDeleteShe looks wonderful and the tiara will always be special to her as it was a wedding gift from her in-laws, but I would love to see her in something different. It has been a long time since she has worn some of the other pieces. And she has done so. Update--Literally as I am writing this, she is wearing the aquamarine tiara at the king's dinner!!! How wonderful to see her in another one. We will take it!!
DeleteSo dark, Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria are giving me Frankenstein vibes. Just love Princess Madeline's tiara and her gown if it did not have the train but they all look beautiful!
ReplyDeletePrincess Birgitta, the King’s sister, passed away on December 4. Queen Silvia and Crown Princess Victoria may have chosen more subdued outfits as a sign of respect during recent public appearances.
DeleteI find all of the dresses rather interesting, especially the ones of Silvia, Victoria and Sofia. I get the feeling that they are all possible to change rather easily, You can probably remove the extra tissue on Silvia s gown for a bit more "low key" event, if Victoria wants to re-use her dress she can remove the black tulle from the skirt, and Sofia could probably remove the "collar" draping from hers... All four royal ladies are very beautiful, but Victoria wins it for me. I love the drapings around her shoulders (probably removable as well!).

DeleteTo me Princess Madeleine may have removed the long train immediately. It gives me Hollywood vibes, especially the way she is stepping down the stairs.
Ce bleu magnifique pour Sofia apporte une belle lumière car les autres robes sont toutes assez sombres. J'adore les boucles d'oreilles de Victoria.
ReplyDeletePaloma.
I don’t like the extra ruffle on Q. Silvia’s dress, but the sapphire tiara is spectacular. P. Sofia’s topaz tiara toppers are not a good choice with her bight blue dress. I would have chosen either pearls or diamonds. P. Madeleine looks wonderful in this tiara and her dress is a showstopper. CPV wears this tiara well but I find the dress a bit flimsy with the tulle overlay. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteToujours aussi belle Madeleine dans cette robe verte ; diadème et boucles d'oreilles judicieusement choisis !
ReplyDeleteSofia looks elegant and regal, Madeleine and her mother, overdone, Victoria looks nice and happy.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh...Madeleine!!! What a gorgeous gown--absolutely perfect for a gala event like this. I have already commented on all the gowns but this is the first time I have seen Madeleine's in all its glory.
