Le haut de la robe de Victoria n est pas élégant
ReplyDeleteMagnifique Madeleine comme toujours
Sofia est lumineuse avec ce bleu

Black gowns for the Queen and the Crown Princess due to the recent death of the King’s sister Princess Birgitta whose burial is set for Sunday
DeleteWell…. Silvia’s dress is navy and Victoria’s is pink with a black overlay. Black as mourning colour in weeks surrounding death is not typical in Northern Europe, although black will be typically worn to a funeral.
DeleteSehr schöne Kleider, sehr schöner Schmuck, sehr schöne Frisuren. Was mich allerdings irritier ist der offensichtliche Gewichtsverlust von Prinzessin Madelaine. 😳
ReplyDeleteAgree !! She’s becoming too thin !!
DeleteAgree - Madeleine looks somehow different due to her loss of weight.
DeleteWhat an evening! Princess Madeleine is stunning! I love her gown, the jewelry and the hairstyle as well. The tiara is perfect, she knows how to wear it, perfect fit! I’m on the other hand truly disappointed in Princess Sofia’s look.
ReplyDeleteShe is so pretty but she desperatly needs a good hairstylist as well as a stylist. I don’t like her gown at all.
Larina
All the ladies are fabulous. All have fabulous hairstyles for their tiaras. Loving the more edgy gowns of Victoria and Sofia too. Particularly impressed with the fit of Sofia’s gown given her pregnancy. A great choice!
DeleteTo my eyes, Sofia's and Madeleine's hairstyles are practically the same here. Also, Sofia is pregnant, which certainly makes it difficult to choose what to wear. This gown was the one she had on in the Vogue pictures, and I think it has been modified quite well to fit her today, too.
Delete-B.
I see your point, but I actually think Princess Sofia’s look was quite striking! Her gown might not be to everyone's taste, but she has such a unique sense of style that I think works for her. The details in her look, including her hair and accessories, definitely give off a certain charm, even if it's not as polished as some others. Everyone has their own flair, and I think Sofia carries her choices with confidence, which is key in pulling off any look!
DeleteI think Sofia looks very good, especially for being pregnant at a later stage. The colour is lovely and bright and the design of the gown fits very good around her bump.
DeleteMissy
Sofia is pregnant and looks absolutely wonderful.
DeleteVictoria has worn this dress before, hasn't she? Does anybody know? She looks regal and feminine, her warm-hearted personality shines through. So beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThis dress is new design by swedish Christer Lindarw
DeleteThought the same thing, but it’s actually a different dress than the one she wore at a previous Nobel Prize gala. Similar though.
DeleteWell I don't recognize it (I'm a swede) but I might be wrong! However I recognize queen Silvias dress, but I think it's remade somehow.
Delete/Sofia
This is a new dress designed by Christer Lindarv. It has gray, pink and black layers of chiffon. I think it is very beautiful. Queen Silvia is also wearing a new dress in midnight blue which goes well with my favourite tiara, the Leuchtenberg sapphires.
DeleteBoth dresses are truly stunning gala dresses and at the same time subdue in colours which fits well with the Royal family being in mourning. The kings sister, Princess Birgitta, died just a few days ago and the funeral is on Sunday.
I have to correct myself when it comes to Queen Silvia´s dress. This one has been worn several times before. Apparently she changed her plans after the death of her SiL. She was supposed to wear a new design.
DeleteMy favorite event on the Swedish royal calendar had finally arrived, the Nobel Ceremony & Banquet!!! I think I have mentioned it before, but it's an event I look forward to every year. I always have the highest of hopes, but I have mixed feelings over this year's gala looks.
ReplyDeleteQueen Silvia - I think her majesty looks lovely tonight. The Leuchten Sapphire Parure looks beautiful with her glittery blue gown.
Crown Princess Victoria - Her look for the night is my least favorite. Overall I bit disappointed as the princess always pulls out all of the stops for this event. I do not know what it is but her dress looks dull. Her sparkly bodice is the only thing I like.
Princess Madeleine - When I heard Princess Madeleine would be joining this year's celebration I got realy excited. It's been a a while since she attended. Weirdly enough I wanted her to sport green for the Nobels and she delivered. Her glittery emerald gown is gorgeous. She pulls off the Connaught tiara very beautifully. I don't think I had ever seen her wear pieces of the Swedish emerald parure before, but they add a nice touch to her whole look.
Princess Sofia - Even though I am not a big fan of Sofia's dress, I do love the color. Her jewels were my favorite of the evening, especially her snowflake brooch. In some pictures I've seen her hairstyle looked a bit messy, but her makeup was nice and simple.
I wonder if Queen Silvia changed her dress plan after the passing of Princess Birgitta to this dark dress. This is a dress she's worn before to the King's dinner for the Nobel laureates. Regardless, it's a nice enough dress although a little dated. Princess Madeleine is the winner for me, beautiful updo and dress and jewelry. Victoria and Sofia both look good, but not as fantastic as I would've wished for.
ReplyDeleteOne of the highlights of the year! Wonderful gowns, beautiful jewelry (and hair and make-up), handsome men. All the ladies are wearing beautiful dresses tonight, each to their own personality, I cannot chose a favourite! A perfect evening; now waiting for the yearly pictures of the dinner, when the ladies look over their shoulder. It's the season of traditions, love it!

Ravie de voir Madeleine de retour en Suède ; elle est toujours très belle en nous faisant profiter de sa robe, des bijoux dont le diadème qui a été ressorti de l'écrin royal - J'espère que nous allons la voir plus souvent !
ReplyDeleteSofia is glowing and radiant, pregnant and she looks sensational in her gown and jewels. They royal ladies all look beautiful, gorgeous gowns and wonderful jewels. Marvellous to see.
ReplyDeleteLady of the manor thank you for stating their look so well. I love seeing pretty dresses with magnificent jewels. The men look great and Chris even has his hair combed nicely
ReplyDeleteOhhhh--one of my favorite annual tiara events!!! Sweden's treasure trove of gorgeous jewels is marvelously on display too. So happy to see Madeleine back as she always brings a wonderful look and tonight was no exception. She looks dazzling--and the emeralds are perfect with her dress and on her. Love that she is wearing a full diamond tiara that is not her fringe. This delicate one fits her perfectly and her tiara hair shows it off too. Sofia looks lovely in her cobalt blue gown--what a gorgeous color for her. Not a fan of the geometric add-on across her shoulders though. I do wish her hair looked better--a bit more pouf to highlight the jewels in her personal tiara would look better to me. Victoria looks amazing--I love her mix of the diamonds with the amethyst earrings--the reflect her dress so well, literally and figuratively. Finally, Queen Silvia. I love her choice of the fabulous Leutchenberg tiara--I love, love, love this sapphire big gun. The earrings and the brooch are also gorgeous but I do miss the whole parure as it is so luscious. My only drawback is that drapey thing on the gown Queen Silvia is wearing. I'm not a fan--it looks like a big bow has come untied. Maybe had it been a single long sweep of satin off to the side I would think it was perfect but as it is...no. The gown is gorgeous and it looks beautiful on Silvia--it shimmers beautifully and she is shining. Hope to see more photos!

They all look glamourous, of course.
ReplyDeleteMy thoughts, in no particular order:
I think both Victoria and Madeleine missed a chance to wear a nice necklace.
I don´t like the dark colours of Silvia and Victoria and would have wished for something more cheerful and uplifting. I realise that they are mourning the loss of a family member, but still, this is a festive night celebrating the Nobel laureates and some colour had been nice.
Sofia looks fantastic in her gown and is my winner.
Madeleine chose a nice colour and I´m interested in seeing more detail of the texture of her dress, but I don´t like the "shoulder" design hanging partway don´t her upper arm.
Victoria´s has a similar off-the-shoulder design but hers is more successful. The draping is interesting and attractive, and I like the fact that she pinned her sash to one of the straps - it really makes the asymmetric design stand out.
Lastly, Silvia´s gown is my least favourite one, to the point that I actually dislike it. The colour is dark, the t-shirt-like neckline is not so nice, the fabric has an unattractive wet-look to it, and the attached thing hanging down from her waist is weird. She looks great thanks to her tiara and fabulous hair, but other than that I don´t like her look.
Best dressed was Victoria and Ebba!
ReplyDeleteI wasn’t sure about Victoria’s gown until I saw it straight-on in the beautiful family portrait. It is magnificent, and hits just the right note between the festivity of the occasion and the somberness of mourning (Princess Birgitta). The design of the bodice is very feminine and sets off Victoria’s figure beautifully. Wrt Silvia’s gown, I could not figure out what its fabric is — in the photos, it looks appallingly like very tight leather, but of course it must be something else — satin?? And the froufrou of the ruffles seems to belong on an entirely different gown. — Jane
ReplyDeleteSilvia´s gown is covered with tiny sequins. It´s probably exquisite from close-up but when seen from afar, I too think it looks bad.
DeleteThank you, Vanessa 🙂
DeletePrincess Sofia looked amazing for 7 months pregnant give or take. That blue color looked amazing on her. CP Victoria looked amazing also! Sarah
ReplyDeleteBest dressed was Madeleine!
ReplyDeleteStunning Princess Madleine.
ReplyDeleteMESH
Princess Madeleine looks amazing in dark green and the emeralds are perfect with her dress. Very regal and elegant look. She was my favorite.
ReplyDeleteVictoria's and Silvia's dresses arent' bad but for some reason their looks didn't wow me like Madeleine's did.
Sofia in cobalt blue looks very lovely and I see that her wedding tiara has new gems again. Very versatile tiara but I'd like to see her with some of the historic tiaras for a change!
Kaarin
Sofias dress was more dramatic and speciel in Vogue!
ReplyDeleteI like CP Victoria's dress. Very original the different layers of chiffon in different colors. I do not particularly like Queen Silvia's dress. It looks like she wears two half skirts put together. On one side her dress has a straight skirt and on the other side her dress has a wide skirt. Again an example how assymetry looks when it is not done in the right way and on the right dress. Didn't we saw Queen Silvia in the past in the sparkling navy dress without the amount of silk on the right side of her skirt ? Princess Sofia is looking very lovely in her electric blue gown. Very up to date and her face is looking so beautiful. Finally Princess Madeleine, her green gown is beautiful but a bit overloaded in the back of the skirt. High time she is stopping whatever diet she is doing, she is really too skinny. Doesn't she see when looking in the mirror that her bones are shining true the skin of her decollete ?
ReplyDeleteThe best tiara's are those who are not too high. The high tiara's of Queen Silvia and Princess Madeleine are exaggerated.
Queen Silvia's dress tonight is a re-wear. She has worn it a few times including at the Silver Jubilee celebrations for King Harald of Norway in 2016.
ReplyDeletePrincess Sofia is my very very CINDARELLA, such a beauty!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSilvia and Victoria are quite stunning their gowns. The fabric of Madeleine's gown is quite heavy and sparkly, too much in my opinion. The winner for me is Sofia. She looks super in this color and the style is great. I especially like the draping in front.
ReplyDeleteNot a big fan of the detail of these dresses. Just gonna leave it with that.
