On December 4, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde, together with the Sultan of Oman, Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, visited the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo. The Sultan of Oman undertook a state visit to Belgium at the invitation of the King and Queen from December 3 to 4. The state visit concluded with a thematic lunch at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel in Waterloo, focusing on defense, biopharmaceuticals, and space exploration.
I can see why she chose this particular outfit for this occasion, but I don't think this is Mathilde's cut and colour at all. It is beautifully tailored, but it washes her out and ages her.

I don’t agree, I think she looks beautiful in this outfit !!
DeleteI completely agree! MR
DeleteI think it might just be the one photo and lighting that has her looking a little pale. In the other photos I think this outfit is giving her a beautiful glow. She’s 51 and looking beautiful for 51, naturally, which I love to see.

DeleteAfter the visit of the Sultan was ended, Queen Mathilde went to the 5th edition of the Brussels Health Summit in the afternoon of December 4.
Maybe she looked a bit tired on this particular photo. Since she wore this outfit for the visit of the pope this year and everybody liked her with this pleated skirt and beautiful jacket, I do not see what could be wrong all of a sudden. Queen Mathilde is a lovely woman with not too much make-up and no cosmetic or other interventions on her face.
She radiates a distinct glow in this white outfit.

DeleteI completely agree with you! It’s understandable that she might look a bit tired, given the busy day with the Sultan’s visit earlier. Queen Mathilde has always been a picture of elegance, and the outfit you mentioned from the Pope’s visit earlier this year was indeed a standout. It’s great that she continues to stay true to her natural look and embracing minimal makeup. Fashion is all about personal expression, and it’s clear that she has a timeless grace. It’s nice to appreciate how she’s able to wear the same outfit with such poise, no matter the occasion!
Love this suit, the pleated skirt looks good. Love her hair.
ReplyDeleteFor this last day of the state visit, Queen Mathilde is wearing a jacket by Dior. The jacket is called "Bar jacket" which Christian Dior created in 1947 and has every year a place in the new collection. She is also wearing her wedding earrings (pearl and diamonds) which she received as a present of King Albert I and Queen Paola. She wore this white ensemble also for the visit of the pope to Belgium this year.
ReplyDeleteI love Queen Mathilde in this outfit.
I forgot to mention that Queen Mathilde is also wearing the original engagement ring which she received from King Philippe when he asked her to marry him. It is a ring which contains diamonds and a rubis in the middle.I've never known why she started to wear a saffire ring.

Queen Mathilde looks stunning in the timeless Dior "Bar jacket," a classic piece that remains a highlight in the collection. Her wedding earrings add a personal touch, linking her to her family's history. It’s wonderful to see her wearing this elegant white ensemble again for such a significant occasion. Truly a sophisticated choice!
DeleteJ'adore la combinaison veste ceinturée sur cette jupe plissée ; ses cheveux ont beaucoup poussé, cela lui permet d'obtenir de superbes chignons !
