King Felipe VI and Queen Letizia of Spain are undertaking a State Visit to the Italian Republic from December 10 to 12, aimed at highlighting and strengthening the bilateral ties and relations between the two countries.
On December 11, Their Majesties were officially welcomed by Italian President Sergio Mattarella and his daughter, Laura Mattarella, at the Quirinal Palace in Rome. Later in the day, the King and Queen met with Italy's Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni at Villa Pamphilj.
Entre le rose pâle de Letizia et la combinaison de couleurs de la fille du président italien, je ne peux pas dire vers laquelle va ma préférence car elles sont belles toutes les deux !
ReplyDeleteBoth women look beautiful! I love the sleeves and embroidery on Q. Letitia’s suit. It looks like a fine couture piece. And the colour combination of the Italian First Daughter’s jacket and dress is unusual and stunning. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty pink suit, a nice colour on the queen. Laura has a pretty face.
Paloma.
I prefer the dark pink dress and wine red shoes and short cape of the Italian president's daughter. Queen Letizia wears black during spring and summer and light pink during winter. I know fashion does not mark the difference anymore between the seasons, but darker accessories would have been better with Queen Letizia's 2 piece..
ReplyDeleteI agree there are no rules but light colours in winter look a bit odd. I personally find wearing black in summer makes me feel hotter. However, the suit is very pretty and looks great on Letizia. It has beautiful embroidery and unusual sleeves.
DeleteWhile light colors might seem unconventional for winter, they can bring a bright, refreshing vibe to the season. As for wearing black in summer, it can definitely feel warmer, but some people still find it stylish and versatile. Regardless, Letizia’s suit is undeniably beautiful, and the embroidery and sleeves are what truly make it stand out.
DeleteOh how I miss QL rocking up in a pair of stiletto’s.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pink suit. I’m not too taken with the puffy shoulder area, but the embroidery panelling is beautiful.QL looks lovely wearing it.
I’m looking forward to seeing what she’ll wear tonight.
Lowri.
I'm not wild about this suit. The appliqués remind me of something Camilla would wear. The color and fabric are lovely, but the style of the jacket seems off for Letizia.
ReplyDeleteI think the suit works really well on Letizia. The appliqués give it a distinctive, elegant touch, and I feel like she carries it with confidence. The color and fabric really complement her, and the style of the jacket adds a bit of drama and structure that suits her personality. It’s a bold choice, but I think it suits her overall look!
DeleteThe Queen looks lovely in this well matched ensemble. Walks with confidence. I'm just not sure pastel pink is the right color for winter December. But she does stand out nicely.
ReplyDeleteI agree, the Queen does look lovely and carries the ensemble with such confidence! While pastel pink might not be the most typical choice for December, it certainly makes her stand out in a refreshing way. Sometimes breaking away from the usual winter colors can add a unique elegance, and she pulls it off beautifully.
DeleteThe winter in South Europe is not so strong and there is sun and light...It is Rome, you can see that there is no gloves, coats ..needed for some minutes outside, It is not freezing
DeleteQueen Letizia jacket is lovely....very pretty embroidery pattern.
ReplyDeleteFor me - the winner is Mrs. Mattarella.
ReplyDeleteStephanie
Beide vrouwen zien er tip top uit.
ReplyDeleteThe Presidents daughter looks wonderful. Letizia looks immaculately groomed, what a beautiful pink suit. The embroidery on the jacket is perfection, adding interest. Her shoes and bag are a lovely color. She looks very elegant.
ReplyDeleteHello , Ava, how are you doing?
DeleteI'm fine.
Rushing here for just a short visit and yes, I do agree with you.
Wonderful suit on Letizia, very flatteting and the President's daughter is equally marvellous.
Excellent sartorial choices from both ladies highliting a hit colour from F/ W collections 24/25, namely the rose/ pink spectrum in all their nuances.
From bud rose (Letizia) to shocking pink to clothes transitioning into more salmon/ coral shades (Laura Mattarella).
I like every single outfit from both ladies, day & night, on any occasion.
Smashing Letizia in her total winter white ensemble and in her evening outfits.
Laura looks so delicate , lovely.
This was a wonderful visit though I understand why Letizia looked a bit pensive and this is absolutely justifiable given the tragedy, victims and mourning Spain is still passing through.
Anyway, great to see the Royal carrying off their scheduled trip to Italy so brilliantly and professionally.
King Felipe is very good at speaking Italian and always so immaculately groomed just like President Mattarella.
Well done Indeed to all of them👏
Hugs for you👋
P. the original. Thank you for your comment. Lovely words as always! I agree about the Presidents daughter, and what a wonderful support she is, I think she does such a fine job, the President is so lucky she steps in this way. I think I read somewhere he is widowed? This I believe has been a good visit by the Spanish royal couple, I agree with you, I personally have enjoyed seeing the coverage. The mourning of the victims of the dreadful floods, I think you are right, and yes this will take time. Such an awful natural disaster. Its going to be a very hard and sad Christmas for the loved ones of the victims, I cannot begin to imagine. Stay safe and take care. Hugs.
DeleteYes Ava, the President has been widowed for quite some time now.
DeleteHer daughter is the kind of one every father would be proud of: beautiful, poised, elegant, exquisite manners and carrying off her role, not a simple one indeed.
She makes for his beautiful dead wife when needed.
Hugs.👋
@ Ava
DeleteSorry:
She substitutes for...
Sorry again, Ava, the previous comment was from me.
DeleteP. the original, I knew it was you, thank you so much! Ha, I thought I read that somewhere, glad I read the right thing. Thank you for the Intel. Hugs
DeleteThe suit is lovely, but for me a rare miss Q Letizia
ReplyDeleteLuna
The pink suit gives me vibes from the 80’s 😆
ReplyDeleteImo QL’s suit doesn’t fit her figure : sleeves are too big for her slim figure and skirt too long. I agree that pale pink is not a winter color , luckily it was a sunny day
ReplyDeleteI understand your point of view, but I think Queen Letizia's outfit has its own charm. The slightly oversized sleeves and longer skirt might be a deliberate choice to create a more elegant, sophisticated silhouette, rather than focusing solely on a tailored fit. As for the pale pink, it can be a refreshing change, even in winter, especially when paired with the right accessories or in bright sunlight.
DeleteIn Rome, Italy, South Europe there is a lot of sun, It is very different than Nordic countries.
DeleteThis is a rare miss for me with Queen Letizia. The jacket looks like something from Dynasty in the 1980s--the shoulders and the padding are screaming Joan Collins as Alexis Carrington. The skirt is OK but a tad too long. I like the color on Letizia and the style details on the jacket are beautifully done but I would like to see this reworked to get rid of Dynasty part of the jacket and hem the skirt to jus below the knee.
ReplyDeleteJanet
I think the strong shoulders and the longer skirt actually give the outfit a unique, structured elegance that works well for Queen Letizia's style. The 80s-inspired silhouette can feel bold and confident, which suits her regal presence. The jacket’s detailing, especially the craftsmanship, adds a timeless quality, and the longer skirt offers a more formal, sophisticated look. While shorter hems and softer shoulders might be more contemporary, I think this outfit has its own distinctive charm that doesn’t necessarily need to be reworked. It’s all about how the wearer carries it!
DeleteOverall, a nice outfit on Letizia. On this monitor, the pink is a medium shade, not pale. Nice fabric and exquisite embroidery. The sleeves, not so much. Chris L
