On December 14, 2024, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, together with Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, attended a ceremony commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge, also known as the Ardennes Offensive, a pivotal event of World War II. Ardennes Offensive was one of the most important and deadly battles in World War II. The ceremony was held in the presence of veterans, the last living witnesses of this historic battle.
Le look de ces dames est parfait pour participer à cette commémoration douillet et confortable !
ReplyDeleteThe women look beautiful. Henri looks handsome even as the years add up!
ReplyDeleteFully agree !
DeleteI like both outfits, both uit they well and appropriate for the occasion. I love the GD cape
ReplyDeleteLove the colour and style, especially the colour, of Queen Mathilde’s outfit. the fur trimmed cape worn but the Grand Duchess is gorgeous..

Both royal ladies look lovely. I love the cape the GD MT is wearing. Queen Mathilde's outfit particularly nice.
ReplyDeleteMagnifici outfit, adoro il grigio e verde di Mathilde e se il mantello sembra leggero no problem, dietro c’è una gentile signora pronta con un bel piumino da offrirle.
ReplyDeleteRossella 🖤
Could be one of her ladies in waiting. Queen Mathilde has a small number of ladies in waiting who are accompanying her when she visits an event as well in Belgium as abroad.
DeleteThe ladies look very elegant.
ReplyDeleteNice to see them together at this event of Remembrance 80th Anniversary. In about 10 years no one will remember the brave men
ReplyDeletefor their Sacrifice to the Country, because no one is left from that Generation. All is then forgotten, sadly but true.

In Bastogne the people won't forget. It is part of their history. The Mardasson monument, the museum, the American cemetry at Hamm, the memory stone of General McAuliffe, they will stay. Just like there are other places in Belgium which remember one of the two World Wars, or earlier like the museum and monument in Waterloo where the British, the Dutch and the German soldiers fought together against Napolean Bonaparte, the monument in Ypres where each year on November 11, the poppies are fallen from the opening in the roof, the last post which sounds every evening, the British commonwealth wargraves in Flanders & elsewhere in Belgium where soldiers of both WW are buried, .... In places where people really suffered from war there will always be signs, monuments, museums, cemetries, books, movies.... to remember how it was.
DeleteVery good to remember these brave soldiers. Has anyone identified GD MT's pendant necklace? It is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
