I am totally gobsmacked! Queen Camilla looks stunning here--what a stellar look. Her gorgeous red velvet gown is perfectly fitted and she is glittering with diamonds. And...she is wearing my all-time favorite tiara: the Queen Alexandra Kokoshnik tiara. What a sight for sore eyes that gorgeous wall of diamonds is! I also love that she chose to wear the other fringe tiara from the BRF vault--Queen Mary's Fringe. What a way to show a line of gorgeous diamonds worn by previous Queen Consorts as well as Queen Elizabeth. Princess Anne looks wonderful in her aquamarines. I can definitely see Sophie is wearing her aquamarine tiara and it looks like the Duchess of Gloucester is wearing Queen Mary's Honeysuckle Tiara with the emerald center stone. Birgitte also appears to be wearing the Gloucester emeralds too. I cannot tell what other jewels Sophie is wearing so hopefully they will be identified. Finally the Sheika is wearing a lovely gown and velvet cape in what appears to be deep burgundy shades.. Her gown has beautiful beading at the hem area and at the cuffs that do an excellent job of catching the light.

    1. What she wore as a necklace is the City of London Fringe necklace. It is NOT Queen Mary's Fringe Tiara (aka the wedding tiara). Two different pieces, though quite similar.

The sheikha’s dress has beautiful embroidery on it. Lovely colour. QC wearing her signature look. Nice to see all the jewels out tonight.

Camilla looks good in red and the velvet falls beautifully in the skirt portion. I like the simple elegance of the Duchess of Gloucester. Anne is Anne. The black dress is really becoming on Sophie - though I wish they'd all chosen some more cheerful colours. With the mostly black and white robes of the Quatari delegation, this is an awfully monotone affair fashion-wise. I'm glad that Camilla and Sheikha Jawaher break this up a bit.

  4. I would have loved to see a different necklace on Queen Camilla it is obviously a smaller version of her tiara that can be used as a tiara or necklace and they look to similar. Would love to see the jewels of the Duchess of Edinburgh who is an asset to the royal family!

Both ladies look lovely. Not overly bedecked nor overly styled, but just enough in a simpler way than we are used to seeing at European state banquest. Camilla looks relaxed in her unfussy soft red velvet gown which allows her glittering tiara to be the star attraction higher up, on her head. The Sheikha also has a beautifully designed dress and coat, and allows the sparklies on her dress to peek through between the folds of her coat. There is some harmony in this respect between the two principal ladies, in addition to the colours each has chosen for herself, which suit both very well.

:-D I would not say that it is a simple look when you are wearing like a kg of diamonds! But I see what you mean, Camilla-s dress is rather simple. I am sure that the Sheika have some tiaras at home, wonder why she did not bring them... Personally I am not a fan of the kokoshnik tiaras, I like the more romantic and flowery ones better. Sophie is beautiful!

I read that Princess Anne has had her evening dress in her wardrobe since 1985.
I wish the BRF were more like the Swedish royal family when it comes to the family jewels. Camilla seems to have worn every tiara in the collection, yet Sophie is still wearing the Wessex necklace tiara. She wore some beautiful sapphire and diamond jewels this evening,I was left thinking, how lovely it would have been if she’d have had access,to the Sapphire Sunray bandeau tiara, which is just sitting in a vault somewhere gathering dust!
I wasn’t taken with Camilla wearing the Kokoshnik tiara,it needed pushing further back on her head. I wonder if the Ruby Oriental tiara might have been a better choice for her.
Fashion wise. Sophie knocked it out the park tonight. The color and style is far more flattering than some of her other recent choices.
DoG - She stuck to her usual white/cream ensembles. But her jewels were spectacular.

Thanks for the information on Anne's gown. I knew it had to be from the 80's due to its style.

The best dressed is Sheika Jawaher. Love her burgundy dress and velvet cape. Queen Camilla could have worn a smaller tiara since the sheika doesn't wear one. Princess Anne looks washed out : pale dress, pale face, bad make-up,... Duchess Sophie is wearing a lovely dress. A pity her dress is ruined by the brooches with the pictures of King Charles and former Queen Elizabeth. I know of course it is tradition in the U.K. and she has to wear them. Only Princess Anne and the Duchess of Gloucester are wearing white gloves. What an outdated tradition. King Charles jacket is hanging down on the side where he wears all the medals and brooches.

Not sure what Sheika Jawaher had done her face, but looks very masculine.

@Anon 12:52 Why would you assume she has had something done to her face?

  10. De toutes ces dames, ce sont Camilla et la Sheikha qui ont le plus d'allure même si la duchesse de Gloucester est belle dans sa robe blanche ; elle a sorti de son écrin à bijoux son diadème fétiche !

My favorite overall look here is the Duchess of Gloucester. She is elegant, as always, with well-coordinated jewelry and perfect posture. Sophie’s dress is lovely, but I feel like her tiara doesn’t coordinate well with the rest of her jewelry. I commend Anne’s commitment to rewearing her white tie dresses, but this outfit needs to go back to the 1980’s and stay there! Camilla looks much as usual; she is able to wear the large tiaras well with her hair.

I think it is a very good choice of Queen Camilla, to choose for a rather simple dress. “Simple” in the good meaning of the word.
It suits her personal style and her jewelry get all the attention.
