November 25 has been designated by the United Nations General Assembly as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The National Council of Women of Luxembourg (CNFL), in collaboration with the Luxembourg branch of Zonta International, organized Orange Week and a solidarity awareness walk. On November 23, 2024, Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg took part in a solidarity march to combat violence against women. The event also marks the start of the '16 Days of Activism' that precedes Human Rights Day on December 10 each year.
Dusan Coat
It's not that bad, but it's not that good either. The scarf is very bulky and the coat, although not bad at all, is poorly fitted and seems to swallow her. These clothes with a lot of fabric and too big are everything she shouldn't wear as a person of short height.
ReplyDeleteI think the belted look is a vast improvement over those large lapals hanging lose. It looks much more fitted, more polished and more flattering.
DeleteExactly my thoughts as well.
DeleteI think she can wear whatever she likes. Winter clothes are often "bulky", and the coat is obviously not meant to be fitted. I am a short person myself, and I like the way she carries herself and how she wears her clothes.
Delete-B.
I agree with you, Vanessa. It’s a much better way to wear this jacket belted. Loose clothes don’t make anyone look thinner. They just show insecurity and make people think you want to hide your body.

Agree, the low shoulder on the coat might be easier to get in and out of but it swallows her up. Otherwise she looks nicd
ReplyDeleteI love the colour combination here - orange and grey. There is a lot of volume in the coat but I think the narrow belt reins it in nicely and overall it’s a great look for the GDuchess. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI really like the whole look here on the Grand Duchess. Grey and orange ftw! The colours work so well on the GD and who doesn't love a great scarf on a late autumn day ;^) She looks cozy and engaged and all good things.
ReplyDeleteThe color combination looks good, I'm not sure about the coat and scarf, both being too bulky. Regardless she looks engaging and happy, lovely to see her out and about.
ReplyDeleteThe Grand Duchess really suits this vibrant orange colour. Unless one is reasonably slim, a belted coat can look like a sack tied in the middle but M-T now has the figure to wear it well. I like the pairing with the grey trousers too.
ReplyDeleteThese coats are fashion. Tight coats are dated. Clothes in general are less tight than before. If you wear a larger dress or sweater under a tight coat it doesn't work. It has been very cold lately in the BeNeLux. Everyone has to wear hats and/or scarfs. I like this outfit on GD Maria Teresa. Good color combination. I would have liked the trousers a bit longer.
DeleteOne of her best outfits! I'm impressed.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit--and the gray and orange are a nice color combination. The coat is a great design--and love that she added the thin belt. Given the openness of the neckline of the coat I can understand why MT added the scarf. Yes it's bulky but it adds warmth for her neck and chest because it is cold. She is walking outside, sitting outside, standing outside--and it is cold. When its fashion vs. cold, cold and bundling up win every time. I think she looks great!
