On November 26, 2024, King Willem-Alexander, Queen Máxima, Princess Beatrix, and Princess Irene attended the 2024 Erasmus Prize ceremony organized by the Praemium Erasmianum Foundation, held at the Royal Palace in Amsterdam. The King presented the 2024 Erasmus Prize to Indian author Amitav Ghosh (born in Kolkata, 1956).
The theme of this year’s Erasmus Prize is 'Imagining the Unthinkable'. Ghosh receives the prize for his passionate contribution to the theme 'Imagining the Unthinkable,' where an unprecedented global crisis – climate change – is brought to life through the written word. Queen Máxima wore a colorful dress by Claes Iversen, which she had previously worn during the Erasmus Prize presentation in 2019.

Oh boy!!!! Like the vibrant colours. Maybe in a different environment it would fit in better.

DeleteMaxima looks ;;;=)))
DeleteWouah, je n'arrive pas à donner un avis positif pour la robe de Maxima surtout avec le bas à franges ; je préfèrerais la tenue classique de la princesse Beatrix !
ReplyDeleteLook at princess Irene: now that is lovely: she has such good taste!
ReplyDeleteLovely princess with excellent taste.
DeletePrincess Irene has always had a wonderful taste. What a lovely suit. Wonder who the designer is
DeleteOverduidelijk, dat de tand des tijds aan iedereen knaagt.
ReplyDelete😁😂👍
DeleteThis is a really dreadful comment!
DeleteQ Maxima looks like a clown. Fortunately Princesses Beatrix and Irene look very well dressed for the occasion.
ReplyDeleteI agree totally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DeleteWhy so many re-wears Maxima?
ReplyDeleteShe has so many new things in her closet according to Hola!
She wears them in private and home-country (many photo proofs).
This exotic looking dress is maybe latin America inspired. I think wear a re-wear on minor occasions.
You can underline the importance of the Erasmus Prize Ceremony with a New Dress as a token of appreciation and as sign of gratitude for the invitation.
Princess Irene does a better job and dresses often in an Addy van den Krommenacker Couture a dutch fashion house.
I like Maxima's hair like this.

Dress - earrings?? Oh no!!
ReplyDeleteP.S. She wore this dress also in 2019 at the Erasmusprijs so bad choice.

Máxima listened to the "a pop of color team" (of which I'm part) complaining about yesterday's monochromatic look and, being Máxima, decided to please them. She has worn this dress before. I kind of like it. It's creative, different and it's her style.
ReplyDeleteNot often I must say that I don't like a dress at all on Queen Maxima. I didn't like it when it was new and still don'tl like. It may be by Claes Iversen who made beautiful clothes earlier for the queen, but this dress is a no for me. Could be excellent for carnival 2025.
ReplyDeleteLovely to see Princess Irene. It is a long time since I saw a picture of her. She always has been thinner than her sister Princess Beatrix, but she is still looking good and her dress is very beautiful. Princess Beatrix also looks good in one of her beautiful tunica's.
ReplyDeleteThis dress could have worked if either the embellishments on the upper or lower body had been taken out..I love what Princess Irene is wearing!
ReplyDeleteThe princesses are both nicely and appropriately dressed. The swing in P. Irene's dress is particularly nice. Q. Maxima could be in a Muppet movie with that dress. At least it's a step tone from the original.
ReplyDeleteOops ... a step down from the original
DeleteI must be the odd one here. I like Maxima's dress. Very much.
ReplyDeleteMARIE
Me too.
DeleteCount me in as well. I love that she takes risks and boldly wears these unusual and sometimes quirky/playful outfits. In this case, the colours are bright and uplifting, and the dress itself has a perfectly decent cut and design. Yes, the bottom third is different, but that's what makes this dress interesting. It is stylized, but not outlandish. I love it.

We don't get to see Princess Irene that often. And she looks fab, I must say. That Claes Iversen dress plays in a league of its own, for sure, and is very Maxima, but I am not sure wether to love or to loathe it. A bit of both, I guess.
ReplyDeleteNever liked this dress--it is way too much. Queen Maxima has so many more outfits that would have been a much better choice than this. The dress looks like something that Iverson made the dress from bits and a pieces left over from other completed outfits. Then there are the earrings--sorry but they are actually worse than the dress. What do I like? Maxima's hair and shoes. Princess Beatrix and Princess Irene both look elegant, stylish, and fashionable--perfect for such an important occasion.

Maxima such a really inappropriate outfit!!!! Whats's her problem, has enough money to dress appropriately.................
