Spain's King and Queen Present the 2023 Gold Medals for Merit in Fine Arts

On November 27, King Felipe and Queen Letizia of Spain attended the award ceremony for the 2023 Gold Medals for Merit in Fine Arts, held at the Royal Artillery Factory in Seville. Among the award winners, proposed by the Minister of Culture, Ernest Urtasun, were actresses Gemma Cuervo and Vicky Peña, dancers Antonio Najarro and Lucía Lacarra, playwright José Sanchís Sinisterra, designer Modesto Lomba, and the musical group Estopa.

A total of 37 cultural figures and institutions, selected by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, received their medals from King Felipe and Queen Letizia at the Royal Artillery Factory in Seville. The Gold Medal of Merit in Fine Arts is awarded by Spain's Ministry of Culture to individuals or organizations that have made significant contributions to art and culture or to the preservation of artistic heritage.
