On November 4, 2024, Queen Sofia of Spain attended the 'Sophia Award for Excellence' ceremony organized by the Queen Sofia Spanish Institute at the University Club in New York City. As Honorary Patron of the Institute, Queen Sofia presented the 'Sophia Award for Excellence 2024' to Venezuelan conductor Gustavo Dudamel, who will assume the role of Music Director of the New York Philharmonic in 2026.
Named after the Greek word for wisdom, Sophia, this award is presented to an individual or organization that has actively contributed to the international appreciation of Spain and the Americas through dedicated time, expertise, and an inherent wisdom in the fields of science, art, or the humanities. The Queen Sofia Spanish Institute is a New York-based nonprofit corporation founded in 1954 by a group of American Hispanophiles.
Queen Sofia is looking the best dressed in the group. Dark green is a good color for her.
ReplyDeleteSmart, elegant and very much a Queen who has just celebrated her 86th birthday (02 November)
ReplyDeleteQueen Sophie looks lovely in her silk- velvet coat ( as does the woman next to her with the yellow flowered skirt).
ReplyDeleteBelle allure de la reine dans cette couleur verte associƩe au gris du reste de sa tenue ; j'adore la couleur de ses cheveux !
ReplyDeleteBeautifully elegant! Queen Sofia looks marvelous in the dark green blouse and scarf while her gray silk and velvet jacket is gorgeous.
