On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands made a working visit to the Ipse de Bruggen care institution in Zoetermeer as part of the 'Pensioen3daagse' initiative by the Money Wise Platform (Wijzer in Geldzaken). Ipse de Bruggen provides care services for people with intellectual disabilities. The theme of the visit was the pension gap between men and women. In the Netherlands, retired women have, on average, 40% less pension income than men (EU Pension Adequacy Report 2024). Queen Máxima serves as the honorary chair of the Money Wise Platform (Wijzer in Geldzaken).
I am not opposed to this mustard color, but this is too much. I think one piece in this color would have been enough. Wearing a different color coat to break up all of that yellow would have helped. I don't think the shoes look right either. I would have preferred seeing the toe of a pump peaking out of these trousers than this more casual shoe/boot.

DeleteOh dear--too much of one color here! I'll stick with the top because the trousers are too ill-fitting (rare with Queen Maxima). Queen Maxima is able to pull off this mustard color but I wish she had worn a different color of trousers--she has some brown or black trousers that would have looked so much better. I'm on the fence about the coat but that might be because there's too much mustard here.

J’admire parfois l’audace vestimentaire de Maxima. Mais ici je n’aime pas les pantalons trop longs et trop larges. Ni les cheveux négligés de la reine.

ReplyDeleteThe pants are too long, well they are not, it is just because she doesn't wear her high heels today but lower and thicker heels. When she wears her stiletto's she receives comments too.
ReplyDeleteHer hair : it is washed but it is not styled. She has damaged hair and it is not possible for anyone, queen or not, to call a stylist every morning to do her hair with false hair pieces like she does for special occasions. She should get up in the middle of the night to be ready in time.
It is much yellow (mustard) yes, but Queen Maxima likes monochromatic looks, she does it with burgundy too.
I think she brought the sunshine we are missing during 14 days now. She is the sunshine in the gray sky of the Netherlands and Belgium.
Why bother to dress up and wear make-up if you don’t even bother to take care of your hair ?

DeleteHer hair has changed in recent years. It used to be much thicker and healthier. Since you do not know the cause of this change, you should have some compassion. Would you say these things to a man who goes bald? I wouldn't think so. Women have hair thinning as well. Age and health play a factor.
