On November 22, 2024, Queen Mathilde attended a conference titled 'Children's Rights at a Crossroads: Evolving Humanitarian Crises,' held at the Egmont Palace in Brussels. The event was organized by the Federal Public Service for Foreign Affairs, Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, along with UNICEF Belgium and Plan International Belgium, to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child.
It's Natan. Without that strange and irregular sleeve the look would be so much better. Or, perhaps, if that irregular sleeve was the same size as the regular sleeve.
ReplyDeleteI thought "Natan" when I saw the first picture.
DeleteI love this outfit on Mathilde.
ReplyDeleteIt suits her frame and her figure so well, is stylish with the drapery details around neck and one shoulder, and she looks really good - lean and tall. The grey wide check gives her a business look appropriate to the event. Could she have used a small piece of jewellery such as a brooch? Possibly, but it's not necessary and I like her ensemble as it is. Well done!
I also like the bright colours of the traditional African clothes worn by the 2 women in the photos with her.

I love it too ! nice originality
DeleteI also love it. It works very well with her body type and it’s modern without being showy.
DeleteBtw, for those who reject Natan every time, we all need to open our minds to different ways a designer can make outfits. As long as the royal ladies feel comfortable in them, it’s best we offer opinion on the fit, suitability to the occasion maybe, but seriously we aren’t “educated” enough (no offence meant) to chastise any of them. Unless, of course, we have in fact been trained in designing and cutting fabrics and all the other aspects that go into making a piece of garment into a real outfit.

The top looks very messy. Too bad, because I think the pattern and colour suit QM.
Paloma.
Though it is Natan, it really suits her excellently! That bit of extra on her shoulder is OK too, because it balances her thinner upper body with - well, with that somewhat less thin part under her waistline. As a whole, a beautiful composition, she looks fabulous, for me one of her best looks ever.
ReplyDeleteI like the dress as well, it fits Qn Mathilde very well.
DeleteLovely new grey outfit on Queen Mathilde. The drapery details is the style Queen Mathilde likes and which suits her tall figure so well. Love her grey accessories. It is a long time ago that I saw Queen Mathilde with these earrings. Her hair is longer lately, maybe she will let it grow until after the state visit of the Sultan of Oman to Belgium begin December.
ReplyDeleteLove this comment
DeleteWow! Love this on her. Nice cut, a little bit different and very stylish. So nice her hair style… She looks fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteSi j'avais dû parier, j'aurais gagné ; sa tenue aux détails drapés donne une belle allure à Mathilde ; encore de belles boucles d'oreilles !
ReplyDeleteI think I'd like this more if it was in a different colour. The cut suits Mathilde surprisingly well and it's an interesting take on "workwear". But then I have bed linen in the exact same colour and pattern as the top half and can't unsee her being wrapped up in it, especially with the asymmetry going on :D
ReplyDelete-Nika-
Grey is also a fashion color this Winter as well as wine red. It is the bed linen which has the wrong color and pattern not Queen Mathilde's outfit.
DeleteWhy would anyone by bed linen in this colour?
DeleteI love this outfit, the Queen wears this particularly well, especially with her height. Her accessories, shoes and clutch, perfect color. Her hair looks well groomed and styled.
ReplyDeleteI just cannot like the style of this top--the fabric and color are great but the style is a mess. This shade of gray looks really good on Queen Mathilde. The trousers are wonderful and follow the wide leg trend but are not as wide as some ladies wear so this pair looks very good. Mathilde's accessories are great too. What I really love here is her hair! I like this pageboy type style and it is very flattering for Mathilde--hope to see her wearing this style more often.

You found Princess Charlene's navy dress at the gala evening of the National day fantastic. Well the top of the dress was assymetric too, the sleeves had not the same length too. What is so different on Queen Mathilde's top ?
DeleteStylish as ever!
ReplyDeleteVery elegant. I like her hair more in an updo or without the high fringe.
ReplyDeleteLove the vibrant colors and dresses of the two beautiful young women greeting and escorting the Queen, her outfit fits her perfectly, she looks great also, Rem
ReplyDeleteQ Mathilde looks really nice, like this gray a lot.

Will have to wait to see if I lost my post but ... some modern Malone Soulier shoes might help a few of Q. Mathilde's looks. She can look so attractive and then a hot mess top like this just ruins things. 😔
ReplyDeleteI think the coat looks great, the pants are fine, the earrings are fun, then the horrid top just ruins Q Mathilde's look. A simple cashmere knit would be more flattering. I think she can carry off most colors so it should be easy to find a simple style in a range of colors to bump out tops like the one in these photos. And yes something like a Malone Souliers shoe in a mid heel could really modernize her look.

DeleteWhen Princess Charlene is wearing assymetric top and a long and short sleeve in the same dress she is applauded.
When Queen Mary, Princess Charlene, CP Victoria, Princess Madeleine continue to wear their stiletto's nobody says they should wear thicker and lower heels.
When Queen Mathilde is wearing her style in which she looks elegant and lovely she receives often critics from you. Her look is not outdated, on the contrary she looks always very up-to-date. Maybe you don't have a clue on what is really fashion for the moment.....
