On November 29, Queen Mary of Denmark participated in the Mary Foundation's AFTRYK event at Vandværket in Copenhagen. AFTRYK highlights the voices and ideas of young people on specific topics that impact their daily lives and, ultimately, their well-being. The initiative was developed by the Mary Foundation with support from the William Demant Foundation.
The AFTRYK initiative invites young people to work on specific topics that impact their daily lives and, ultimately, their well-being. This could include exploring how to create a smooth transition from primary to secondary education or how young people can maintain their motivation for an active leisure life.
Demant is a Danish multinational company specializing in hearing care, hearing aids, audiometric equipment, and personal communication devices. The William Demant Foundation's ownership is a central part of Demant, enabling the company to allocate resources to benefit people and society in the best possible way.
poorly fitted suit. I know that such oversized suits are fashionable, but the outfit is too laidback for any Queen.
ReplyDeleteHowever we are not in a past century and any queen has the right to wear whatever type of suit she wants
DeleteShe looks lovely with whatever she wears, it's her choice of comfort when doing her work
DeleteThe shirt is too casual for the rest of the look. Without the suit it looks a little better, but it's still screaming for a necklace. A rare fashion mistake for Mary.
ReplyDeleteOn these shirt blouses normally no one is wearing a necklace, unless it is buttoned up until the last button under the chin. If you leave the collar open a necklace would not stay in place. Maybe a little short golden chain is worn sometimes on the bare skin. But these chains are so simple that they are almost not visible.
DeleteI was surprised how much her hair colour changes, depending in the light!
ReplyDeleteAgree !!
DeleteI love her wide pants, like to wear them too but the combo with the wide pants and loooong, wide blazer too is looking quite strange 😳
ReplyDeleteAgreed. Either the wide pants, or the long blazer. Both together look oversize.
DeleteYou need long legs to make it look good.
DeleteMary looks business elegant and wholly appropriate for this event. The shirt with stripes and white collar is absolutely perfect for this type of jacket. Well done that she does not overdress the people she visits, without losing her business elegance. Wide pants - I personally don't like them, but she looks good nevertheless and maybe we all need longer to get accustomed to them (and when we at last do, then tight pants will come back :-)
ReplyDeleteNot my favourite outfit, but big is in. I do think dressed down is in keeping with what the others are wearing, so appropriate for this occasion
ReplyDeleteIn the sun, her hair looks red.
ReplyDeleteI think she wanted to be dressed like other participants in the event, I see it positively. I don't see any reason for screaming.
Paloma.
ReplyDeleteSome may think that her outfit looks too relaxed, but I think Mary wore the perfect look for a meeting with young people. Her finger is on the fashion pulse of the younger generation, and her style today is inclusive and unifying without looking superior.

Well said, Q Mary is one of the few royal ladies that consistently dresses to fit the occasion, she looks great and is great at putting others at ease. Rem
DeleteI think the length of the jacket, spoils the look. If the jacket had been waist length,it would have balanced out the wide leg trouser. Not often a mis-step for QM,but this is one.
ReplyDeleteLowri.
Love the shirt, perfect. The jacket length is a bit too long, the pants are too baggy. I realize this is current fashion, but doesn't appeal to me.
ReplyDeleteSorry, but I think the girly, girly look of her hair is beginning to look boring and no longer suits her.

I agree with you, do you remember how beautiful it looked for the recent King and Queen awards where her hair was more straight and off of her pretty face!
DeleteAgree
DeleteHairbun or ponytail now it takes to many hairdresser hours.

Regarding her hair, her best look is always when she has at least one side drawn behind the ear.
DeleteI fully agree with Fitzhugh !
DeleteShe looks so nice with her hair tucked behind her ears.
DeleteShe so much wants to please and be liked by the young people.
ReplyDeleteI like this outfit. Queen Mary is dressed in a manner that might be described as business almost casual. She looks polished and her choice of a simple blouse and trousers fits in perfectly with her event. I am not sure about the longer blazer and trousers combined as a suit--I might need to see Mary wear the outfit again. But I like the look of the blazer designed to match the trousers that adds the look of jacket that can treated as a coat. I definitely prefer the trousers worn with just a blouse or a turtleneck as the long blazer makes the wide leg trousers look too wide.

Great look for Mary. Always stylish and elegant.

I listened to some of the interview, and I think Mary shouldn't have done it but let one of her professional people from her foundation or so to conduct it.
