    3. It is an evening event! Makeup is supposed to be heavier in the evening. Every time this type of comment is mentioned, I am surprised how many people don't know this.

    4. Agree. That woman on the photos does not look like Madeleine.

    5. Evening or no evening makeup, when it is too heavy it is not beautiful anymore. What I see is a too heavy lipstick with the green dress. She looks like a traffic light.

    6. Agree, perhaps it is the weight lose that is contributing to the change i her look. I do like the dress very pretty lovely colour

    7. Her makeup is not too heavy for an evening.

    8. I agree it’s a bit hard to recognise her. The makeup does seem overly heavy (and there is no rule for that, because of course makeup is completely optional and most women in Sweden wear none or little)… but I always try to remember on this blog that we see a few photos only which represent a couple of micro seconds … and she may have looked quite different if we saw her in person or in different lighting, with a different lens, etc! - Grace

    2. Yes pointy sandals are not beautiful. If she wishes to wear sandals, she should have chosen a different type of sandal with a more square looking sole that follows the line of her toes. Now it looks like she is wearing shoes that are too big.

    3. @anon 17:07,I agree with you on the pointy sandals. There’s a particular brand that does the sole that way,I’m not certain which one.But I’ve seen them before and they don’t look good on anyone.

  3. This cannot be Madeleine, the most beautifull Swedish Princess…….
    Very nice dress bytheway

  4. Once there was a birthday portrait of the PoW on which I commented I didn't recognize Catherine in it. Same holds for today's post about PM ... where's she in the pictures?

    ReplyDelete

    1. The difference is that: PoW's birthday portrait was a stylized art photo where the art photographer played with light and shadow.
This photo of Princess Madeleine is a "snapshot" of a photojournalist documenting some social event. It looks like the plastic surgeon played with something in her case. (I don't mean that as an insult).

  5. Lovisa de Geer, lady on the right side in the white suit; her pants are way too long for her doesn’t look good.

    1. It looks sloppy. And how can anyone walk with all that material dragging on the ground? Not to mention how dirty it will get!

Paloma.

    3. She is probably not the one who must look after or wash her own clothes, otherwise she would have made her pants shorter.

    4. Madeleines friend since childhood is the lady in the black dress, Louise Thott. The other two Sofi Fahrman and Lovisa de Geer are just social climbers. The body language speaks for it self here.

  6. It looks like Madeleine-s long stay in Miami has inspired her to go and do some "adjustments" here and there... She looks beautiful but not completely like herself. I am not a fan of her outfit this time.

    ReplyDelete

    1. What does a stay in Miami have to do with anything? Makeup can change the look of the face depending on how it is applied. Contour is applied to sculpt the cheeks and nose, for example. This is something done by makeup artists and women who know how to apply makeup well.

You are so right: it really is her make up: A few weeks ago I saw a picture of her walking her dogs here in Stockholm, wearing a jogging outfit and she really was a another person.

I don't like her make-up. Maybe they like it in the US that way, but to me it looks artificial makeup artist or not.

    4. 14:37 that’s true. We can see in photos across the years that she has had cosmetic interventions and most likely plastic surgery. Changes to her have not just been makeup. Her mum too has had cosmetic interventions over a long period. (Annie)

    5. @Anon 17:12 It is not an American thing. There have been remarks about almost all the royal women wearing too much makeup in the evening. The way makeup is worn depends on the occasion and the time of day. Makeup can be so natural that it is barely noticed (fresh faced), to the opposite end of the spectrum for evening events. You must not be a makeup person. Not everyone is. Women who do wear makeup understand this is very normal. It must also be kept in mind that we are not seeing these women in person. Photography changes colors depending on the lighting, and can capture images differently than they look in person. The royals know what is proper. They have to.

    6. Evening make-up is supposed to be watched under dim light, that's why it may look too strong in the harsh and bright light of a camera flash. She looks great to my eyes, as do the other ladies, too.

  9. I love her hair and dress, but I agree that the make up is way too much and she doesn't quite look like herself. However, I don't believe it's because of surgery, but just overuse of makeup. If you look at the meeting at the UN the day before she looks just like herself.

  11. The dress is lovely, however the green is not the kind of green I like for this dress. Together with the make-up and the hair extensions it looks all too artificial to me.

    1. Thank you. I'm not the only one to notice she's wearing a hair piece.

Paloma.

  13. Pretty dress. When she first moved back to Sweden, I was going to comment that the changes that occur naturally as part of aging made her resemble Victoria more. Others are noting a weight loss. There have been changes and indeed, that is not the 'natural look' in terms of makeup (eyebrows). Chris L

  14. I think Madeleine’s makeup looks nice and I like her pretty, sparkly earrings. I don’t particularly care for the way her hair is styled. Perhaps she is going for a retro vibe with it, but it makes her look like she has fake hair clipped on the back.

  15. Her makeup is overly heavy, but her hair looks beautiful. Her shoes look good as does her pedicure, its great to see lovely well groomed toes! I like the color of her dress, but I don't like the dress, I have never liked this brand, I don't find the styles, attractive, though that is my opinion, personal taste here only!. The shape of the dress is very becoming on her though. Her earrings are interesting.

  16. I don't think that's her hair. Anyway, I like the look. As someone else posted, makeup is supposed to be a little heavier and more dramatic in evening. (I also don't understand why people don't know that.) I like the deep green color on her although I think it might have been more stunning if she was still a blonde.

  18. Madeleine looks beautiful. Yes, she's wearing more makeup than usual but this is a gala event. I am not seeing all the supposed plastic surgery changes others are claiming--her daytime appearance in the white jacket and black trousers doesn't show all this supposed medical intervention. Her makeup and the lighting is the difference. Besides, if a person wants various types of interventions by a doctor--why is that an issue anyway. What I do see is a beautiful dress, a gorgeous hairstyle, and some modern earrings worn by a truly beautiful woman.

  19. I think she has done something.I do not not if it is becouse of the weightloss that have changed her face after losing face fet or if it is fillers, but she looks like a different person. The make up I think is heavy ,but not for this evening.
The dress is green and she looks lovely in this. The shoes is not that nice, but it makes a sense with the dress.
I like her fashion style a lot.

  20. In my opinion Princess Madeleine looks wonderful! She probably lost weight but to me it seems like the result of a healthy and sporty lifestyle. Her dress, make up and hairstyle are fantastic. Fashionable and glamourous. I don’t think she is wearing extensions she naturally has nice hair. But if she does? You don’t need to always look for mistakes especially when there are no mistakes at all. This is an amazing look, she looks amazing. Don’t forget that the Princess is there because it’s a noble cause and child protection is close to her heart. I bet if the Princess of Wales would have worn the same outfit and a heavier make up everyone would be praising her.
