On November 1, 2024, Princess Kako of Japan attended the opening ceremony of the 41st National Urban Greening Fair in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture. Before the opening ceremony, the Princess visited Ikuta Ryokuchi Park, an urban planning green space in Tama-ku. After the ceremony, Princess Kako attended a tree planting ceremony. The Fair was initiated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism (MLITT) in 1983 and has been hosted in different cities across Japan each year since.
The fair is a festival of flowers and greenery that has been held annually throughout Japan since 1983 as a public awareness event to promote the importance of greenery among all citizens, to deepen knowledge of how to protect greenery, and to create cities where comfortable and prosperous lives fostered by greenery can flourish.
ReplyDeleteI'm impressed with Kako. She has a sense of style that makes her always look beautiful and well dressed. And a lovely smile.
