The Princess reopened the terminal building of Princess Juliana International Airport

Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands visited Sint Maarten and Saba from November 12 to 15. The visit focused on the work of the Dutch Caribbean Nature Alliance (DCNA), of which Princess Beatrix is the patron, as well as social initiatives on the islands. The Princess also reopened the terminal building of Princess Juliana International Airport in Simpson Bay, Sint Maarten. Sint Maarten is one of the four countries that form the Kingdom of the Netherlands, along with the Netherlands, Curaçao, and Aruba.

  3. Gee the square neck top looks so good on her. A style well suited to her. Such a gracious lady, a good example for young people.

    1. I think in part it’s due to the access to wealth she has: she can fly first class, take helpers with her, has a luxury car to take her place to place, the best hotels, etc … most older people don’t have this so travel becomes really hard. I admire her still working too! - but also have a little giggle when I see older royals planning their charity work in the darkest European months to land into stunning sunny islands and get a break from the grey. She is a cheerful lady who therefore always looks good! - Grace

    2. Princess Beatrix is going every year in the same period to the Dutch Carribean. She does not have to represent her country, but while she is there they take the opportunity to open new initiative and remember older ones. She likes to go there, said so herself. Of course one must admire her that she still can do this at her age. She always has been a strong woman and her health condition is still good.

  6. How wonderful Princess Beatrix looks! It's a quick trip to the islands but she looks fresh as a daisy and so relaxed as well as interested in everything she was doing. I love her tops--all very smart and beautifully designed.

  8. Dear Grace, I disagree with you. I know many people who are very active and are much older than former Queen Beatrix and certainly do not have access to the perks you mention. Apart from sensible food, medicine and exercise, it is simply a matter of genes. I knew a lady who worked until the age of 95, needed no medication, and others who are wrecks by the age of 75. So, forget the prejudice.
