Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle of Sweden visited Gunnel Wåhlstrand's exhibition at the art museum Prince Eugene's Waldemarsudde in Stockholm. Artist Gunnel Wåhlstrand personally welcomed Prince Daniel and Princess Estelle to the museum.
Gunnel Wåhlstrand (b. 1974) depicts motifs from family photo albums and her own photographs of nature along Sweden's west coast. This exhibition is her first comprehensive solo exhibition since her 2017 shows at Magasin III and Boijmans Van Beuningen.
Its not a photography exhibition, she uses ink wash which makes it much more impressive. This is the info about the artist on the website for the exhibition:
ReplyDelete"Since her debut in the early 2000s, artist Gunnel Wåhlstrand (b. 1974) has worked with the meticulous and time-intensive technique of ink wash. In large-scale format and with remarkable precision, she depicts motifs from family photo albums and from her own photography of nature on the west coast of Sweden. The clarity of detail, the quality of light and the reflections in the greyscale works are captivating. The upcoming exhibition is the most comprehensive presentation of her work since 2017 and will include early work as well as some of her most recent production."
