This year, the Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights is celebrating its 25th anniversary. To mark the occasion, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the conference 'Facing the Future with Confidence, Building on a Quarter Century of Experience,' held at the Palais de l'Europe in Strasbourg, France. Afterwards, the Grand Duke and Grand Duchess visited the European Youth Centre for an interactive meeting on the work and priorities of young people.
The Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights is an independent and impartial non-judicial institution established in 1999 by the Strasbourg-based Council of Europe. Its mission is to promote awareness of and respect for human rights in the Council's 46 member states. The current Commissioner, Michael O'Flaherty, began his six-year term on April 1, 2024.
Beautifull dress spoiler nu far too short jacket
ReplyDeleteyes. baggy clothing don't look good on a peitit lady, atleast if the coat was tight fitting
DeleteI think it is a nice outfit for her globally. She is rather short, the jacket length is ok.
DeleteI will add, some comments below are too tough for her choices, I think above all, she likes some originality. I see it as a success.
DeleteWell said, Mary T. She isn’t trying to copy anyone else nor conform to some “style guides” - she has a real personality (like Maxima), coming from Cuba and not being born in an English/French/Italian environment. It shows she is different from other royals and that’s quite wonderful.

It seems like everything is wrong here. The uneven hem of the dress, the color of the bulky coat. Nothing favors her. The only good thing is the floral print of the dress. But it gets lost in the middle of this mess.
ReplyDeleteShe almost always manages to dress wrongly for her body type. These large, bulky jackets with huge lapels do her no favours at all, and just swallow her whole. She is rather short, nothing wrong with that, so she perhaps needs clothes that do not emphasise the shortness but elongate her physique. Cropped, squarely tailored clothing is plain wrong for her, although she might think otherwise and likes these kind of wear. Well, each to their own, I guess.
ReplyDeleteIndeed always wrong style for her body type. She should wear one colour and less is more models
DeleteFor me, she would not look one centimeter taller if she wore a non-bulky jacket. She looks small, because she is small and why on earth should she want to look tall. I quite like the jacket as such, a nice soft feminine cut, and I like it on her too. The dress itself looks lovely, my only problem is the uneven hem, but this apples to anybody wearing it. Best example of a completely superfluous feature adding nothing positive.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you regarding the uneven hem. I don´t see the need for an uneven hem to exist on any garment. It never looks better unless it´s a structural or design feature, but that would require a sturdier fabric to take effect. The thin fabric just results in the uneven hem to be limp and hang as if it was cut off at random, or ripped to shreds.
DeleteI wouldn´t have chosen a floral dress for the occasion to begin with, the neckline is on the low side, and the uneven hem makes it look even more out of place. I would have gone for a more business-like outfit like trousers suit or sheath dress + blazer. I don´t mind her jacket as such, but she seems to have a whole lot of them.
Hmmmm, I think I like this outfit. I am not a fan of uneven hems but in this case it seems to work for her. The jacket is just a bit too big, perhaps a size smaller would not envelop her so much. The shoes nice both in colour and style. Nice
ReplyDeleteI would even out the hemline of the dress and swap out the jacket for something sleeker and simpler. Overall the colours suit her very well and I love the shoes and bag. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteThe fabric of the dress is lovely but all the points on this outfit pointing in different directions widen the look needlessly. Pointy shoes, points on uneven hem, big points on lapels ... no. The jacket also seems to be cropped at her hip instead of her waist which doesn't help with the effect.
ReplyDeleteThe GD is a lovely effervescent woman who can look so nice when she dresses simply. The same fabric on a straight hemmed dress, a soft knee length draped cashmere coat, tall boots with medium block heels .... the focus could be on her not all the spare style details
The actual dress is lovely, though I don't like uneven hems. The jacket is nice, but not in this color. It doesn't blend well with the dress. Her hair looks good, I love it short like this, suits her beautifully.
ReplyDeleteI like the jacket but not here. I like the dress except for the handkerchief hem--straighten out the hemline and would love this dress. I think the issue here is the excessively wide lapels on the jacket because the length and the color are good. Hair and makeup are great and Maria Theresa looks lovely.
ReplyDeleteJanet
I like it. The grand duchess looks good. Maybe the jacket is one size too big for her.
ReplyDeleteSuperbe l'imprimé floral qui est trop caché par la veste à larges revers !
ReplyDeleteGreat outfit. Sending my love 💗👑
ReplyDeleteA bit too much. nice dress.
