On November 22, 2024, King Jigme Khesar Wangchuck and Queen Jetsun Pema, accompanied by Prince Jigme Namgyel, Prince Jigme Ugyen, and Princess Sonam Yangden, visited the Buddha Dordenma at Kuenselphodrang to offer prayers before a sacred Buddha relic. The Buddha’s relic, brought from France through the efforts of Kalu Rinpoche and the Zhung Dratshang, was previously displayed in eastern Bhutan before being brought to Thimphu. The relic is currently on display at Kuenselphodrang from November 20 to 26.

I like the way the king holds his son‘s hand, it does not look staged, lovely.

Beautiful family. What a presence. Queen Jetsun is young and a beautiful woman but what I find to be really special is that she looks, in a very positive way, a much older woman. She looks very young and beautiful but more wise than her age. 💖
ReplyDeleteThe many photos (past and present) of this royal couple and their adorable kids, as well as their colourful national dress, and the warm humanity they always seem to exude always bring me joy.
