The Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh are making a four-day visit to Malta to mark the 60th anniversary of the country's independence. On the third day of their visit to Malta, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh visited Villa Gwardamanġa in Malta, where they learned about the restoration work on the former residence of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh where they lived as a young married couple.

Between 1949 and 1951, Philip was stationed in the British Crown Colony of Malta as a serving Royal Navy officer. Philip and Elizabeth lived intermittently in Malta for several months at a time in the district of Gwardamanġa, at Villa Gwardamanġa, the rented home of Prince Philip's uncle, Lord Mountbatten.

The Duchess then visited the Daphne Memorial in Valletta. The Duchess laid a bouquet of flowers to honour Daphne Caruana Galizia at the makeshift memorial in Valletta. Maltese journalist Ms. Caruana Galizia was killed by a car bomb in 2017, while investigating suspected corruption in high-level political and business circles in the Mediterranean nation.

    Love this skirt!

    First off, Prince Edward desperately needs a new suit. This oversized, double breasted style just swamps his slim frame. As for D. Sophie, I much prefer the skirt worn with the matching blouse as seen on the model. As it is, the skirt is much too long, and the over-long sleeves of the white blouse just add to the problem.
    I was so pleased when the Duchess started buying better quality clothing but a good stylist could help her immensely to put her outfits together. (V.M.)

    Sophie is gorgeous and I usually love her style, but this is not it. It looks as if she's drowning inside of those clothes, which has often been the case in this trip. Both the top and the skirt look way too big and bulky, it looks very ungainly.

    Best dress so far. Would change shoes, but understand why she chose to wear them.

    I like what she's wearing but I think it would look a lot better on her if;
    1) the top she choose was tailored to fit her. The sleeves are designed to go past the wrist but not almost down to the fingernails! She'd down better to wear the top that goes with the skirt. And ...
    2) she had worn a "lighter" shoe or sandal. The heavy, clunkiness of the espadrilles don't work with the light, airy-ness of the skirt and top.

    J'aime bien les manches transparentes du chemisier. Le petit sac en paille tressée est joli aussi. Cependant je préfère la robe noire et veste blanche de la belle femme brune (photo 6). Paloma.

    As usual, Sophie is wearing her skirt longer than it was designed to be worn. It looks much better on the model. I think it would have looked better with the matching blouse. She is not good at coordinating separates. She has made yet another decent garment look worse just by the way she has styled it.

  9. I like this look. For once, I don´t think the skirt is too long. I also like the white blouse which matches in style and actually looks better than the one on the model with the same print as the skirt. The length of the sleeves doesn´t bother me, but the shoes are all wrong. She likes those and insists to wear them with almost anything but that type of clunky shoe only works with a denim skirt or so. This light, airy outfit of floaty material called for an equally light shoe or sandal. No need for heels even.
    Edward looks awfully slim, and as a result, his suit is too big for him. I wonder if he´s well.
