  1. She is not a royal. Duchess is not a royal title, and she is not part of the royal family. - Jordy

    1. What exactly is your point, if you please?

    2. While you are correct that Duchess is an aristocratic title rather than a royal one, you are wrong to state that she is not a part of the royal family. Her daughters hold the title of princess and Charles who holds the title of king has chosen to include her now in many family events. Your dislike for her does not change that.

    3. There are other times we see people here who are not royals--Charlotte Casiraghi or Beatrice Borromeo come to mind. Sarah is out doing some very important work for everyone, using her higher profile to support breast cancer awareness. She is a survivor herself. CP Victoria and Princess Charlene are very actively involved in their countries in this campaign but the BRF doesn't have a working royal who's taken up this campaign so I'm glad to see Sarah stepping out. 2. Is Sarah back to being a working royal? Just asking, because I don't know and we see her quite a lot lately. She looks good here, I like the combination of a black dress and pink/rose blazer. The signature belt adds focus and interest. I feel she dresses so much better lately. And to be honest loosing some weight makes clothes look so much better. I would have preferred the dress to be 2-3 inches longer, just below the knee cap. And also a small heel would have looked better than the ballerinas. In my opinion.

    1. No--Sarah is not a working royal at all. She is using her higher profile to support and promote breast cancer awareness. Remember--she is a breast cancer survivor. Janet

    2. She is not representing the BRF in any of these outings she makes, but just attending to events that she has been specifically invited to in the capacity of her private celebrity, or that she attends as a guest of her daughters. Most of these events have a personal connection to her. So no, she is not a working royal.

  3. Is the duchess visiting in an official royal capacity or on her own? I think it’d be great if she were helping out the Royal Family. .

    1. No--Sarah is working to promote breast cancer awareness and treatment centers. She is using her higher profile to help support a very worthy cause that helps people fight a deadly disease--one which Sarah herself has had.

  4. So thrilled to see her blossom in her later years...! She seems calm, collected and content all of which reflect in her style and overall demeanour.
Wish her nothing but ongoing peace in her life with her little grandchildren.

Please, try to elaborate people's comments with a bit of perspective.
As we all know, the Duchess of York is no working royal but she Is still connected to the Royal Family in what I would define as an " unofficial way".
Some Royal Houses have take on similar engagements to support cancer patients and research in different ways and this still happens.
The Duchess of York is a living witness of this terribile disease and can add her priceless contribute in terms of emphaty, compassion and understanding given her personal history.
@Anon.9:13: at 18:03 and @ Janet at 16:49 have summed up well what the function of the Duchess is in this case.
Sarah is still tied to the Royal Family at present and is a visibile sign that also a satellite member of the Family can perform an engagement with a royal imprinting- so as to say- though not being on the working royals list as a matter of fact.

  7. Can we give the Duchess a break for a moment and take a look at some fashion.
The Smythe fashion house is 100% Canadian.
A little over 20 years ago two Canadian women, Andrea Lenczer and Christie Smythe, put together their experience and knowledge of the fashion industry to create the Smythe one button “Duchess” blazer/jacket/vest.
Part of the inspiration was to make a top to complement designer jeans such as Calvin Klein and others.
They say their style icons are ……Audrey Hepburn, Lauren Hutton, Jane Birkin, Kate Moss.
The Princess of Wales (Catherine Middleton) helped to get the band playing for them when she wore her navy, duchess vest with a gold button during her visited to Canada. It appears she has re-worn it several times.
Her sister -in-law the Duchess of Sussex (Duchess Meghan) has been a customer and is familiar with the brand thanks to her years in living in Toronto.
    Photos anybody?
They state that all their products are 100% made in Canada.

    1. deadeggs, where the hell have you been, I have asked several times where is my buddy deadeggs, I thought you were sick or maybe you were in heaven kicking the clouds. I hope you have been OK!!! I like the Duchess's pink and black ensemble except for the shoes, they look cheap. I think that a lady can wear a plain black dress with fashionable shoes (they do not always have to be expensive) a couple of pieces of jewelry and look like a million bucks! As a guy I always wear nice shoes, That is what they tell me anyway!

    2. Hello FITZHUGH.
      Why haven't I been around?
Long story short …. my unlovable mother-in-law and I get along like cat and dog.
Unfortunately, she’s been quite ill recently and I’ve had to bury the hatchet and do my bit to help the family out.
I take a quick look at NewMyRoyals whenever I can so as to keep up to date with Queen Max’s hair and Duchess Sophie’s hem lengths and other all important topics e.g. bunion spotting, bra problems etc.
I know that my fellow bloggers have been working hard to help the royal ladies with their wardrobe “wow’s”, disasters, hitting it out of the park and not forgetting the all important “pop of colour” advice.
Keep up the good work girls (and boys).
Hope to spend more time with you all soon.

  8. Il est certain qu'à ce jour, elle est toujours Duchesse d'York... ! L'association du noir et du rose de son blazer convient à ravir avec sa couleur de cheveux ; très jolie la boucle de sa ceinture de Gucci !

  9. Duchess Sarah looks fine in that pink blazer. Unfortunately it is a bit too tight. I bet she cannot close the button very well and decided to leave the jacket open. Her black skirt or dress is a bit too short and wearing shoes with a little heel would be more elegant than the ballerina's.

  11. Wonderful to see Sarah supporting the institution in her work as Patron of Precent Breast Cancer.
However, I have to disagree and point out that your use of "The Duchess of York" is not correct when referring to Sarah, and how you worded the description.
Since her divorce from Andrew, she is NOT The Duchess of York, but she is Sarah, Duchess of York.
If Andrew had remarried, his current wife would be The Duchess of York, and if Sarah remained unmarried, she would be called Sarah, Duchess of York.
In other words, there would be 2 women who could be styled as "Duchess of York", however only one would be THE Duchess. I hope that is clear and would appreciate you using the correct title when referring to Sarah in the future!

    1. Why making things so complicated ? Well, Sara is Duchess of York and not The Duchess of York and Philippe is King of the Belgians and not King of Belgium. And the female director of the Faculty of the University of Oxford where CP Elisabeth has studied called King Philippe your Royal Highness which is the title for a Belgian Prince/Princess. King Philippe must be called Your majesty. I don't know if the old way to say hello to the King of the Belgians can still be used : King Baudouin was always called "Sire" and Queen Fabiola "Madame" the same for King Albert and Queen Paola. Since King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are on the throne it is Votre majesté (in French) and Majesteit (in Dutch). But I don't think that King Philippe would be angry if someone is still calling him "Sire".

  12. I like the jacket and colour combination however the jacket is a size too small and the dress is a tad too short. She has nice legs but sometimes when we age the bony joints of knees, arms and hands don’t look so good.

  13. Sarah is not an HRH since her official/legal recorded divorce from Andrew. She is now Sarah, Duchess of York. If Andrew married again, his wife would be HRH The Duchess of York, as long as Andrew retains his HRH.
Fashion-wise, this is a nice outfit for Sarah. As posters have noted, above, the jacket is a bit too tight—a constant habitual miss by Sarah. But the color is nice with the black. Thank you to deadeggs for specific fashion information about the Canadian designers!

  14. L'association des 2 couleurs va bien à Sarah.
J'aime bcp la longueur de la jupe qui met bien en valeur ses belles jambes.
De plus je trouve que Sarah est l'une des rares à bien porter les chaussures plates
