On October 5, 2024, the Duchess of Edinburgh visited the Brooklands Motor Museum in Surrey for a planned contact with the International Space Station, aimed at promoting the engagement of girls and young women in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). The Duchess spoke live with an astronaut aboard the International Space Station (ISS) via Amateur Radio. The event aims to encourage the involvement of girls and young women in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM).
GABRIELA HEARST Stephanie double-breasted jacket
FRAME Stripe Ruched Sleeve Cashmere Sweater
ALBERTA FERRETTI Wide-leg Pants
I like the classic blazer, striped top effect and love the boots. But that color pants does not blend well. Two dark colors not matching - should have stayed with a wide leg pant in a light tan, camel or one of those hues.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second time in the past few weeks that Sophie has put together an odd combination. She does not have a gift for creating outfits using her existing pieces.
DeleteThis looked to be a lovely visit. Her necklace looks interesting. Love her blazer.
ReplyDeleteWhen I see the Duchess wear this Frame cashmere sweater I'm usually pretty sure I'll like her outfit. She somehow manages to style well around it very consistently.
ReplyDeleteNot sure why the Duchess thinks the green trousers are a good match for the brown jacket. She looks as engaged and positive as she usually does 😊
ReplyDeleteShe did it again, wearing the wrong pants with the wrong jacket ! What are those odd things hanging on her necklace ? Her hairstyle looks so much better today.
ReplyDeleteJe dis carrément non à cette veste de couleur marron/prune ; de la même couleur que le pantalon, cela aurait été parfait !
ReplyDeleteNothing seems to match, but then I am wondering if perhaps she put the sweater, pants and boots together that coordinate well. The jacket looks like it could be suede leather so she is using it as a coat of neutral colour rather than a coordinating piece.
ReplyDeleteI think I know Sophie is up to with the mixing of trousers with the Hearst blazer--she trying to make a less formal look than that of trouser suit to suit the events. But, sorry, it has been a fail both times. The sweater top and the blazer are good together and the sweater is also a good match for the Ferretti trousers. I guess she felt that element would pull the whole thing together. Still, her engagement with the people at her event is what ultimately counts and on this point Sophie scores a 10 out of 10!

ReplyDeleteNice pieces but not together. I really like the blazer.

Unfortunately, she tried and failed once again to pull off the bold-color trouser interest look. I think she is experimenting to see if it works. I used to think that perhaps she didn't have the same resources as Kate and other royal ladies, so gave her a pass when it came to some fashion related issues. But, if she can afford the upkeep of Bagshot Park, ,she can afford a proper stylist and seamstress/tailor, and I would love to see her elevate her fashion "game."
