-Dorothe-

  2. While Queen Mathilde certainly stands out, there is something a bit too costume-like about her daytime attire thus far. I think the balance between functional fashion that stands out is sometimes difficult to find, but everyone else at that table/meeting is nicely dressed, but more realistically dressed. It's as though she is dressed to portray a queen, but it's a bit much and over the top. I feel like this is a photo shoot for the new Dior New Look vs. a state visit with real meetings with real people.

  3. The color is fabulous but the belted waistline does her no favors

  4. This is a very unflattering outfit on Mathilde. It makes her look much wider than she is. The skirt is too flared and the pleats don't help. The fabric also looks very thick making the outfit appear heavy. I do like the vibrant green colour and the hat is cute.

  5. Dior yesterday, Natan today. I think this looks like Natan's attempt at channeling Dior. As is so often the case, the Natan fabrics are stiff. This fabric actually looks thick. I can see where Mathilde was trying to go with this outfit, given that it has the same feel as yesterday's Dior, but it has enough Natan in it to keep it from being as much of a success as yesterday's look. I do like the color. Mathilde wears brighter colors very well, and she seems to enjoy wearing them. It is nice too see this bright green in the midst of all the deeper colors we have been seeing.
