There goes those shoes again, it’s her staple but I’m sorry the white tights doesn’t go well, I’m sure there are grey or navy to wear.

Ummmm, perhaps flat shoes for the first lady woild of been better with the short pants. Lovely scarves on the queen. Not sure about the short sleeve under the caftan type outfit of the first lady. Perhaps someone can explain the fashion

Another round of interesting fashion from Queen Sonja, M-M, and Mrs. Innes-Stubb. The art museum visit has both the queen and First Lady wearing uh-oh parts of their outfits. The jacket of the queen's suit is too tight. The trousers worn my Mrs. Innes-Stubb is a big no. They are too short and too wide--had been a full length she would have had a beautiful look here. Sonja's skirt is fine and her wrap is gorgeous. Next up--it's M-M's turn to have an uh-oh. That belt is all wrong--I think her dress is very pretty and love the color on her but that belt is just hanging. Finally, the evening dinner. Back to Mrs. Innes-Stubb--what is she wearing??? From the side view we see first it's fine but the front view is...awful. Sorry, I cannot like this outfit at all. Sonja is wearing a what appears to be a velvet dress with a nice, comfy-looking coat/shawl/wrap. So glad M-M changed! This green dress is lovely and looks quite good on her--again, simple and clean lines are so flattering to her.

    1. You summed it up perfectly.
Mette-Marit in that deep green dress is everything. This is the best she has looked in a long time.

The Q jacket is not to tight, but if we have followed her we should have noticed that she has gotten a more prominent case of scoliosis, after all she is almost 90 years old.

I don't think the First Lady's pants are not too short or too wide. They are on trend and she is probably wearing them as designed. The cut looks like they are barrel pants. I am seeing about half of them cropped. I don't find them flattering, and this is one trend that I wouldn't mind fizzling out sooner than later. I agree that Mette-Marit's belt looks out of place. I don't like pieces looking like an afterthought, and this definitely does. She would have better forgetting a belt all together.

How do you know she has scoliosis ? She is wearing wraps with every outfit. Impossible to see her back. I have always heard that scoliosis is a malformation of the "colonne vertebrale" (help ! I don't know the name in English) and one is born with it. It is not because she is holding her head in a certain position that she has scoliosis. It can simply be because of neck pain. Very uncomfortable if you ask me.

QS have had problems with her back since 1991 incl a herniated disc. You can see on every photo of her that she has gotten more and more crooked in her hip area. Her left hip is higher then her right. As we get older we get less and less elasticity. The cushion between our discs get smaller and smaller and so on. This has for the Q gotten worse the last few years. From prople who claim all the time they can read photos, we don't look very good do we. https://www.google.com/amp/s/royalportraitsgallery.com/home/queen-sonja-and-crown-princess-mary-attend-official-dinner-celebrating-opening-of-the-new-national-museum%3fformat=amp

Scoliosis on a degenerative basis is a relatively common condition in the aging population, with typical onset occurring at the age of 50. One leads that the condition usually starts with disc degeneration, which in turn leads to loss of disc height and segmental instability. Sincerely from someone who got it in her fifties.

I am not aware of any reports that Sonja has scoliosis. Given her age, she probably has osteoporosis which is causing the curvature (degenerative scoliosis), exacerbated by other back issues. If she has disc degeneration, I haven't seen it reported, but it is entirely possible. It is not very common to be born with scoliosis (congenital scoliosis). The most common form is idiopathic scoliosis (no known cause) which represents about 80% of cases.

First Lady of Finland is definitely the winner here.

What? It looks like the first lady of Finland is wearing a silk potato bag to the return dinner, but I don’t know anything about «fashion from Finland».

The first lady of Finland appears to be wearing a dark potato sack.
The Queen and MM, both look lovely as usual.

  7. La reine est très élégante dans cette association de couleurs sur les premières photos même si ses collants sont trop blancs ; dans une couleur grise ou noire transparente, son look serait parfait !
