On October 7, 2024, Queen Sofía of Spain attended the commemorative ceremony for the 19th anniversary of the creation of the Military Emergency Unit (UME) at the Torrejón Air Base in Torrejón de Ardoz, Spain. The Military Emergency Unit (Spanish: Unidad Militar de Emergencias, UME) is a department of the Spanish Armed Forces responsible for providing disaster aid across Spain. The UME was formed on October 7, 2005, to enhance the national government's capacity to respond to emergencies.

ReplyDeleteThe queen obviously chose black for reasons of protocol and the brooch is probably linked to the event. However, the shape or cut or fabric is not very flattering, but I cannot define my impression. Perhaps it is too masculine. Others might do better at nailing down the problem.

The black outfit is a bit too black for the Queen. Ladies in their eighthees look better with red, royal blue, ....
ReplyDeleteMaybe it is the pockets on the jacket and the wide pants. She looks better in a more feminine cut clothing. Perhaps some bright lipstick woild of brighten her look

Very nice tailored outfit for the former queen. She is usually lost in very flowy clothes. She has kept her jewelry to a minimum which looks so much neater than when she piles everything on.
