On October 12, 2024, King Felipe and Queen Letizia, accompanied by Crown Princess Leonor, presided over the solemn act of homage to the National Flag and the military parade, both of which took place at Plaza Cánovas del Castillo. Afterwards, King Felipe, Queen Letizia, and Princess Leonor attended the reception on the occasion of the 2024 National Holiday at the Royal Palace in Madrid.
October 12 is a national holiday in Spain on which the Spanish people commemorate the history of their country. It is officially called the Fiesta Nacional, or Día de la Hispanidad – Hispanic Day, which also commemorates Spain’s legacy to the world, especially in America.
Red is certainly QLetitia’s colour and the combination with the tan trench coat is excellent. I was surprised by the cut out at the back of the dress, and I’m not sure that it adds anything to the overall look. P. Leonor looks very poised and confident in her uniform. (V.M.)
ReplyDeleteI agree. The cutout is distracting and doesn't add anything to the entire look of the dress.
DeleteLeonor looks great in uniform!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful red dress, it flows well, the skirt has plenty of swish and movement. Overall very feminine. Her coat, I love! The diamond and ruby drop earrings are the perfect choice.
ReplyDeleteTres jolie cette robe rouge, simple mais élégante

Would anyone know why the princess did not change out of her uniform as her father did for the indoor reception?
ReplyDeleteMaybe because she was going directly back to her military training again…just a guess though.
DeleteOnly the King's privilege to change out of the uniform? (Also, just a guess.)
DeleteP.E.R.F.E.C.T.I.O.N!
ReplyDeleteA lovely red dress for the Queen, this is a great color for Letizia. Leonore looks really good in uniform and decked out in Orden's already. The King always looks good too.

Princess Leonor looks great in uniform and really suits her hair in the elegant chignon. Shame it was raining so that Queen Letizia had to wear the drab coat over the lovely red dress. It's a perfect length with the low heeled shoes. The King always looks good too.
ReplyDeleteIf you see the other photos on other sites which show Letizia and co in the context of the longer line of dignitaries that were spread across the street you see that her coat and red highlights fit in with the overall colour scheme which is formal and military muted colours plus red. Not boring, but apt and deliberate . - Grace
DeleteAgree with Grace, goes with the color scheme and ain’t nothing drab about it!
DeleteI dont remember any other year with rain, they all look great, and eco the question, what's the protocol says about the king changing his uniform but not so the Infanta
ReplyDeleteLuna
Leonor is a Princess, because she is the heir, Sofía is the Infanta.
