King Felipe and Queen Letizia attended the 73rd edition of the Planeta Novel Prize ceremony at the National Art Museum of Catalonia in Barcelona. The Premio Planeta de Novela is a prestigious Spanish literary prize, awarded annually since 1952 by the publisher Grupo Planeta to an original unpublished novel written in Spanish. This year's prize was awarded to Madrid-born writer Paloma Sánchez-Garnica, who won the 2024 Planeta Prize, endowed with one million euros, for her novel Victoria, three years after being a finalist for the same award with Últimos días en Berlín.
This black gown is beautiful, I love the detail and the design. Gorgeous and very striking. The diamond bracelet, is stunning as are the diamond earrings which are a wonderful size.
ReplyDeleteAgree with Ava!

ReplyDeleteWhat bracelet is she wearing?
ReplyDeleteIt’s a Cartier bacelet from her personal collection, she has this since 15 years or so.
DeleteThe earrings are from the joyas de pasar collection, several jewels only to be worn by the Queen of Spain.
I hope that was helpful.
Missy
Dress and jewellery are on point, however I don’t find her thinness attractive in this dress.
ReplyDeleteAgree with you, the upperhalf of the dress is not flattering for Q.L.
DeleteLove her lower heels: so much more elegant than those idiotic very high heels.
Agree. Had been better with sleeves.
DeleteCareful, careful, the Letizia police could be on your heels………😡
DeleteI love the dress, and agree that these lower shoes are so much lovelier than the incredibly high heels that many of our European queens/ princesses wear. I’m hoping Letizia changes shoe fashion trends with her new lower shoe set (which I think is just since her foot pain/ injury?) - Grace
Delete@ Grace
DeleteNot only European queens and princesses are wearing high heels also the British royal ladies are wearing them. Now and then one can see a queen or princess who is wearing lower heels when on a working visit for example.
Now that Queen Letizia has been through severe feet problems and has to wear low heels all the other royal ladies who are still wearing their high heels are receiving critics. It is not Queen Letizia who is changing shoe fashion trends, the trend started already before Queen Letizia developed feet problems.
If another royal lady would had problems with her feet and would not be able to wear high heels any longer Queen Letizia would still continue to wear her high heels any way.
What is meant by Letizia police?
DeleteAnonymus . 15:40: the UK is part of Europe!

DeleteGeographically the UK is part of Europe. Since the Brexit the UK is no longer part of the European Community.
Anon 06:27... obviously, not all Europe belongs to the EU, but still they are Europeans...what a nonsense!! ..so the people from Norway ...for example..
Delete@Anonymous 06:27
DeleteNorway, Iceland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Macedonia (or, properly, the former Yugoslav republic of Macedonia), Albania, Switzerland, Belarus, Ukraine, Moldova, Russia (if we count it as a European country), Turkey , Lithuania, Andorra, Vatican, San Marino.
Europeans countries that do not belongs to the EU...I think It is Europe...a bit of history, please!!
Not a nonsense. Maybe those who are not belonging to the European Community will have to become members for their own security. The expression "belongs to the EU" ? It is the membership of the European countries that makes the EU. Together they are stronger in case of conflicts.
DeleteAnon 13:19.. security? Conflicts? Do you know what the EU is? There are countries that do not want and others that are not allowed to ...I think you are speaking about NATO...the EU has not any Army...I wonder..where you come from...USA??
DeleteIn Europe there are 50 countries, only 27 are the European Unión...(Not Community anymore..the name changed)
DeleteThere are now twenty-seven Member States: Belgium, Bulgaria, Czechia, Denmark, Germany, Estonia, Ireland, Greece, Spain, France, Croatia, Italy, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Hungary, Malta, Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Portugal , Romania, Slovenia,
Slovakia, Finland and Sweden.
Oh my ! This discussion started with the fact that European Queens and Princesss (the British included) are still wearing high heels.
DeleteSuivant l eclairage Letizia est plus ou moins bronzée.
ReplyDeleteCette robe est magnifique
Letizia peut donner des leçons d élégance à certaines princesses ou Altesse.
Froufrou
It depends what you understand by elegance.
DeleteLetizia as an adult can tan herself to a crisp if she wants.
DeleteHer elegance is there to see for those who know the difference.
I love the wine red dress of the lady on the 4th and 5fth picture.
ReplyDeleteAgree!! Really beautiful
DeleteTrès belle forme pour la robe (la partie jupe fait danseuse ballerine).
ReplyDeleteLes paillettes sont la petite touche de glamour idéale pour une soirée.
J'aime un peu moins les bretelles mais c'est un détail. Paloma.
I love this beautiful elegant dress, but the top of this dress is far from flattering for Laetizia.
ReplyDeletePure elegance
ReplyDeleteGrande élégance dans cette robe peut-être légèrement trop longue ; bon choix de bijoux !
ReplyDeleteI love the dress--it is beautiful but I agree with others--the top is not flattering to Queen Letizia. Everything else--hair, makeup, jewelry, etc is perfectly styled. Like others I too am glad to see her wearing lower heels. I know she has had to deal with severe foot problems and I hope she is completely recovered--even these low heeled shoes can cause foot pain due to the angle of the foot--because I too have had serious problems with my feet and I have to be very careful about footwear to avoid pain.
ReplyDeleteJanet
The dress is too long with the lower heels. The top is not flattering anymore even for an evening event. The other ladies are dressed better more covered and more appropriate for the season.
ReplyDeleteBonita como un cuadro y tan natural, ¡qué carisma! ¡Qué reina!
ReplyDeleteI'll never forget Queen Letizia at the opening of the Olympic games with a similar dress (sun dress neckline) when the rain was falling down constantly. All the others were dressed according to the weather circumstances.
ReplyDeleteShe had a cocktail reception at the Elysee right after that (there are pictures with Mathilde and MT) and clearly no time to change..
DeleteHopefully this frees up some cranial storage for more important things.
