On October 3, Queen Máxima presented the 2024 Appeltjes van Oranje awards from the Oranje Fonds at Noordeinde Palace. King Willem-Alexander and Princess Beatrix were also present at the ceremony. Each year, the Appeltjes van Oranje are awarded to three social initiatives within the Kingdom. The three winners were announced during the ceremony. The winners of the 2024 Appeltjes van Oranje are: Fundacion Movemiento ta Bida, Stichting Al Amal, and Stichting Join Us.

The theme for 2024 is: 'Reducing Loneliness Together.' This year, the awards were given to initiatives aimed at reducing loneliness, specifically targeting groups known to experience loneliness more frequently. The announcement of the winners took place in the presence of representatives from the ten nominated organizations. Queen Máxima presented the prizes to the winners.

Nice summer dress for young girl.
Donot try to make into something else.
The shoes are far to formal and heavy for this dress.

I don't see how a pair of classic high heeled shoes can be to heavy.

I think you don't know the meaning of "formal" and "heavy" 🙄

Maybe you don't know that the "Appeltjes van Orangje" reward is a yearly more or less formal event. Queen Maxim

Maybe you don't know that the yearly distribution of the "Appeltjes van Oranje" reward is a formal event in The Netherlands. Queen Maxima does not do the distribution of the prizes on her own, King Willem Alexander is present and Prinses Beatrix is present too (last group picture second from the right on the first row).

You are right: I did mean more informal, Achard62 writes: “plus léger”, that is what I meant.

The Ulla Johnson dress retails for around $1200 so not in the budget of most young girls. It’s made of crêpe de chine which is not a stretch summer fabric, but rather an elegant well-draping material, which I think is easily elegant enough for heels and award ceremonies - Grace

I like this outfit, although I’m not usually a fan of either all white dresses or uneven hems.
Queen Maxima looks great and her hair is wonderful!

I don't like this new dress on Queen Maxima. There are too much details together : the ruffles, the split, the uneven hem, ... I like her hair, but on the 1st picture one can see it is longer on her back than usual. I congratulate the hair dresser who incorporated the extensions in her own hair. It is looking very natural.

Her hair does appear to have been supplemented with extensions or a hairpiece of some sort. Regardless, it looks lovely and natural here.

      @ Royal Watcher
Yes it has been supplemented with extensions, otherwise her hair in the back is not so long. It looks indeed lovely and natural because the incorporation of the extensions has been done by a hair specialist. Queen Maxima or any other lady with thin hair cannot do this all the time because when your natural hair is very thin already, it is known that using too much extensions is not healthy. But this treatment is far from wearing a wig. People who pretend she is wearing a wig don't know anything of the possibilities that exist nowadays.

Calling her hair a "wig" is meant to be mean spirited. There is a big difference between a wig and extensions.

  15. Ce modèle de robe asymétrique convient à merveille à Maxima ; par contre, j'aurais bien vu ses chaussures dans un style plus léger - Magnifique l'avant dernière photo ; coiffure, maquillage, rien à redire !

Her hairstylist did a marvelous, amazing job with the hair extensions. Perfectly blended and natural and they make her look so much better and a neater presentation overall. I wonder why she doesn't use them more often. They look great and make all the difference.

Do you realize how long it takes to attach extensions into your hair ? It is also recommended not to use this method too often because it is not very healthy for your own hair. With her thin natural hair she cannot take the risk to damage it too often.

    2. Anonymous4/10/24 20:47

Yes, actually. I have worn extensions for years. It all depends on the method used, and there are many different ways to incorporate them into one's hair. In fact, you can braid your own hair beneath to protect it, which is what people with thin, easily breakable hair typically do. My own hair has grown an incredible amount and gotten far healthier than it used to be due to protecting it underneath and wearing the extensions. This is why I suggested someone with Queen Maxima's hair type do the same. She looks lovely and neat here and the difference truly is the hair.

I have no doubt she wears clip-in extensions. Her natural hair won't be damaged with clip-ins.

Je n'aime que la partie haute de cette robe avec le joli plissé à l'encolure, mais la basque à la taille n'est pas une bonne idée et je n'aime pas le morceau de tissu qui pendouille sur le côté. Paloma.

So she can make the choice to style her hair, or if it is a wig at least it looks good. Too bad the dress does not look good with all the weird angles and ruffles.
