This coat (dress) looks fantastic, not so fond of the hat.

Oh dear. Overkill seems the only word that comes to mind about Max's outfit, though the colour is lovely.

  4. Wow! I'm not sure whether it's a good wow or an "oh no" wow! A very Queen Maxima outfit for sure I love the colour of the outfit, the hat and the hair. The collar gives a very retro 1950s/60s vibe which is super elegant. The skirt has been shortened since the more formal full length the previous time it was worn and I'm not sure the length is quite right--perhaps a little too long. Yes, I think I like it!

It has not been shortened; part of it has been turned inside

Exactly! And much better now that the coat has been worn before.

The proportions of this dramatic evening coat worked beautifully before it was shortened. I can see that the shorter length is more wearable but I think it needs boots to balance out the huge sweeping wrap. (V.M.)

This dress provides some warmth without wearing a coat, but I think she’s overdressed. Her hair is looking fabulous.

Queen Maxima looks great! The dead, wispy ends of her hair seem to be tucked under and here we see the potential of how she would look if her hair had a good trim and looked healthy. The dress is better at this length, but still not great. It is, however, perfect for a high fashion event at a museum and I am always appreciative of when a royal lady reworks an "old" dress or gown.

Such a statement for a fashion exhibition! A very good idea to rewear this coatdress, slightly shortened (but not permanent) for this occassion. QM looks great and I love the hairstyle with this design of coatdress ... a 20-ties vibe

  14. Quel changement - Ce genre de béret qui recouvre délicatement ses cheveux ramenés sur la nuque nous montre ce que cela donnerait s'ils étaient légèrement raccourcis au carré !

you can call it a bedcover if you want ( anonymous klo 13:26) but on my opinion she looks just perfect 👏:

I agree. I love how Maxima looks. Mohamed Benchellal is a Moroccan-Dutch designer. She is dressed perfectly for this event.

Quelle importance ?
Paloma.

There is a picture on "Modekoningin Maxima" with the Morrocan designer of this dress Benchallal, he designed the dress for prinsjesdag 2022". I think the shorter version looks good too.

Maxima is one of the few queens who could pull off this outfit. Very dramatic, perfect for a fashion exhibit. I would love if she trimmed her hair to this length!

  19. Love the shortened version of the skirt with the wild jacket. The look of the faux bob along with the hat is great.

I'm going to have to look for more photos of the exhibition. Looks interesting

Nice color, the whole outfit is a bit much. The new length of the skirt is better, but still a bit too much.

I generally like Queen Maxima even with her lumps and bumps but I must say that this is the very first time I can really relate.
That's exactly what I myself would wear in no time, that's one of my favourite diva styles, absolutely love It!
    Perfection. all around.
Ok, I love showing off just like Q.Maxima seems to be doing in these pics.
The difference Is that I am no queen but still have that wicked ego of mine to tame everyday.
Hard work, my friends, believe me😉

While it is nice to see a smaller and dignfied hat on her, the dress reminds of Viven Leigh from Gone With The Wind making a dress out of drapes.

Had to chuckle at the 'dress out of drapes' comment. Thanks for a moment of comical appreciation. Personally, I feel the hat looks like a mushroom cap sitting atop of her head. Not a fan of the look, the dress, or coat, or whatever it is, is just a total no, except for the color.
