Denmark's Queen Mary is on an official visit to Brazil. On the third day of her trip, she arrived in Brasília. Queen Mary, along with the Minister for Climate, Energy, and Utilities, Lars Aagaard, visited the Presidential Palace in the capital. Queen Mary attended a meeting with Brazil's President, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, at the Planalto Palace.
Later, Queen Mary, together with Minister Lars Aagaard, visited a public school in Brasília, where they were introduced to Brazil’s school meal program. Afterwards, they visited Embrapa Cerrados, a Brazilian agricultural research institute in the savannah region.

The danes must be so proud over their new queen!
ReplyDeleteI heard her speak on the news the other day. She really needs to work on her Danish skills or rehearse before I trip where she knows there will be questions in Danish. She is not Danish, I know, but she has been here for almost 25 years now, has access to the best teachers, and she is queen and representing the country. But I think what matters most is her appearance.

DeleteOh, really?
@annonymous 09:27 what you are saying about Queen Mary's Danish is the exact opposite of what her family and others have said. She received a lot of applause on how quickly she mastered the language and her children once joked that her native tongue comes through but in a sweet way and how proud they are of her. She is very educated and has a degree in law and is very accomplished and worldly. As I have said before King Frederick married up when he took her for his bride and if you did not know it you would think she was born a royal. I love to here her speak English and she has a very pleasing voice and comes off as very sophisticated. Do yourself a favor and type in Frederick and Mary's engagement interview and I think you will be just as much in awe of her as I am when you view it!
DeleteAgree with Fitzhugh!
DeleteI also read that Danish people are so proud her.
DeleteBoth dresses are perfect for the occasions and both rewears
ReplyDeleteThe floral print jersey dress, is beautiful. I love the design of the pattern, perfect, not too much, just right. The fit of the dress is good and her earrings, not sure what they are but they are gorgeous. The up style hair in this instance looks fabulous.
ReplyDeleteThe shirt dress, I love! This style is so serviceable, and perfect for this event.
Impeccable Mary, comme toujours.
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary gets more beautiful with time. Being Preppy as I am I love the striped dress, I have striped shirts in blue and white fabric as well. King Frederick must be very proud of her!
ReplyDeleteLovely Queen Mary. The floral dress with the updo and earrings is superb. The striped dress is also smart.

ReplyDeleteDeux belles robes mais je préfère la rayée de bleu et blanc ; ses boucles d'oreilles sont parfaites !
ReplyDeleteTotal perfection! I love both these dresses and it's wonderful to see them again. Queen Mary looks beautiful.

I agreed 💯 with Fitzhug well said 👍
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary is wearing an odd belt with her blue and white striped dress. Doesn't coordinate whatsoever.
ReplyDeleteQueen meets President. Both dresses of Mary look spot on. The one with the stripes I would like myself.
