On October 11, 2024, Princess Madeleine attended the Erica Foundation's anniversary conference together with the World Childhood Foundation at the ABF Building. This year, the Erica Foundation is celebrating its 90th anniversary. The Erica Foundation (Ericastiftelsen) is a non-profit organization founded in 1934. It is one of three institutions commissioned by the Ministry of Education to offer psychotherapy programs specializing in children and youth.
Dagmar Sabina pleated midi skirt
Beautiful ensemble that combines luxe with slightly more casual. Gold tones are lovely with her hair.
ReplyDeleteThis is the second nice monochromatic look in a row for Madeleine. She pulls these pieces together nicely. I love the big bag. It looks o much better than a clutch. She left Florida at the right time. While she may miss the warm weather, she is safe from the devastating hurricanes Florida has endured in the last few weeks.
ReplyDeleteAnother good look from Madeleine. This time she wore the skirt with beige pullover (last time with white blouse).

Paloma.
The top is a missmatch, both in colour and in style. I´m totally for a nice jumper, but this one is too lose and too big to go with the skirt. She needed something more fitted and and save the lose-fitting jumper for a day she is in jeans. I would have chosen a top in the same colour as the boots, or white.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteNever heard of the monochromatic look ? It does not mean that everything must have exactly the same color but stays in the same group of colors. Better wearing a jumper that is a bit lose than one that is too tight. I like her in these stylish clothes.
DeleteHi, anonymous 7:20. I have heard of a monochromatic. In the true sense of the word, it does actually mean its ONE colour all over, hence the mono (greek for ONE). I understand that in the broader sense, it can mean a range of similar colours, though normally, one would combine the same colours, just different shades, i.e. a bit darker or a bit lighter. Here though, Madeleine has combined two different beiges, one with red undertones (in the skirt) and a jumper with yellow undertones that´s more like a mustard-y colour. Those two tones do not match, and in fact they look jarring together.
DeleteSimilarly, I think the following is true:
light blue + dark blue = good, lightblue + turquoise = awful;
light green + dark green = good, light green + khaki = awful;
etc.
I think that if you cannot get the colours to match perfectly, at least in tone, it´s better to go for contrast.

DeleteYou are free to like what you think is right. Fashionwise however the designers have no problems with combinations like on Princess Madeleine. You can do the same thing with wine red : combinations in different tones of dark red, wine red combined with fuchsia is done.
The colors you named in your example are not combined very often (I didn't saw anyone, royals or other, in these color combinations.)
Nice clean look on Madeleine. The House of Dagmar skirt is a rewear from 2019. I think the clean Dagmar lines are flattering to Madeleine.
ReplyDeleteI think the boots and bag are slightly more country chic than the knitwear and would love them in my wardrobe.
J aime beaucoup cette tenue
ReplyDeleteSuperbe couleur automnale.
Je fais de même

I love a monochromatic look.But the colour of the jumper does not match with the skirt or the coat.
ReplyDeleteIt's called tonal dressing, and very much in vogue. Colors do not have to be an exact match, but in the same family. Matchy-matchy colors are not what is done now.
DeleteQueen Maxima did the monochromatic look already 2 years ago. I remember she received bad comments for that. Also Queen Mathilde did it several times. I have the impression that on this blog one is often very late with accepting something new in fashionland. By the time everybody is used to it, it is already over in Europe.
Delete12:16 Some royal ladies are always criticised, and some can never do anything wrong. This is the ugly truth about the people commenting here.
DeleteNice clothes on a beautiful pr Madeleine!
ReplyDeleteI don't mind the slight difference in color - top and skirt. She looks beautiful. The boots look fabulous. She looks very stylish.
ReplyDeleteVery nice look, the pieces much perfect. Sweater skirt boots and the coat.

Another beautiful look from Madeleine! She looks wonderful here--the skirt and top are good together and I like how she styled her outfit with boots and a bag in a darker, more chocolate brown. Sophisticated and chic.

I think this is an incredibly stylish ensemble. I like the fact that she accessorizes with bracelets instead of so much busy jewelry around the neck, outdated broaches, etc. Nice skirt length - that is refreshing.
ReplyDeleteCette magnifique jupe plissée est très bien portée surtout après l'avoir associée avec le pull ; j'aime bien son choix de bottes !

ReplyDeleteI would have changed out the colour of the sweater. And don't like the boots at all. Brown yes, but not these. But love the idea behind the outfit.
ReplyDeleteSo wonderful that p M is back in Sweden!
