  1. This is a beautiful gown, worn to perfection by the Queen. The gold colored evening clutch, perfect addition, lovely splash of color. Her hair looks divine, love her earrings. The King looks good in his tux.

    1. Ava, you’ve written that so convincingly! I thought she looked beautiful but I didn’t love the dress, but after your words I looked again and am persuaded by you! Fred looks very proud too. - Grace

  4. Ils forment vraiment un très beau couple ; que d'élégance dans la robe de la reine mais j'aurais bien aimé la voir de couleur verte !

  5. Stunningly beautiful. The combination of midnight blue velvet and dark gold satin is perfect, and the clutch matches the contrasting lining of the dress´s shawl thing. I also very much like Mary´s hair with this outfit. Very elegant and a bit playful at the same time. I may add that Fredrik looks smashing in his suit. It fits him well. It is fitted but not as tight as many of his other suits.

  6. I do so admire QM,and her pledge to sustainability in fashion. The times we’ve seen her wear items from her closet that we haven’t seen in years. This beautiful gown is an example. I remember her wearing it at the then Prince Charles 70th birthday. She looks as beautiful in it today as she did then.
    Brava QM 👍

Paloma.

  9. I am not body shaming Queen Mary, but I think her bare arms here are not her strong point and I find her hair too long and fiddly. She has looked so much better in other gowns recently.

    1. Yep … superb arms for a woman over 50!… nothing to shame with Mary’s arms. - Grace

    2. I agree with the points you make! Strange thing, but such a youthful hairstyle is actually aging on a mature woman. I very rarely like one shoulder dresses. This beautiful velvet gown - is it dark blue or dark green? - would have looked better with cap sleeves on both sides and a plunging boot neck or V-neck. Too classic? Too boring? Well, sometimes or should I say most of the times, classic wins over daring.
