King Charles and Queen Camilla concluded their four-day tour of Samoa with a special visit to Siumu Village. On the final day of their royal visit, the King and Queen attended a farewell ceremony held in the village of Siumu, a twinned village to the UK. Villages around the Samoan capital, Apia, are twinned with each of the 56 member states of the Commonwealth. At the ceremony, the King was honored with the chiefly title of To’aiga-O-Tumua by the village’s high chief. After the visit, the King and Queen boarded their plane home.
The queen looks tired, but being stoic even with tears in her eyes. Love the fan
ReplyDeleteOn the 4th picture it looks like Queen Camilla is crying and on the 5th picture her (beautiful) handbag has been photoshopped away.
ReplyDeleteFashionwise : I never thought she still had that apron dress.
Her handbag has been photoshopped out of the picture! A very amateur job, indeed.
DeleteThe handbag was not photoshopped, she appears to have the closed fan in her other hand.
Delete-B.
Her lady in waiting probably has her handbag, I believe she is holding the closed fan.

Her handbag is photoshophed in the first pic as well.

This is a good dress for QC.
ReplyDeleteIndeed she looks tired: the fan seems to be mult-purpose: for cool, for hiding unwanted expressions like giggling or yawning may-be too?
Nevertheless: they are doing great and it looks to me they received a warm welcome everywhere.
5th picture she is holding her fan, handbag not photoshopped out
ReplyDeleteShe looks wonderful and has done a marvelous job.
ReplyDeleteGreat of the Q showing tears humanity at work. I think they have done a great job. Both like to work together, supporting each other. Hope they will take a day or so off upon their return to the UK. Nice dress BTW.

I think the Queen is doing an excellent job but I really dislike that dress. Its a granny house dress. The pattern is just blah.
ReplyDeleteWhy is she crying?
ReplyDeleteShe is crying - sad.
DeleteHow would anybody on this board know?
DeleteIt was tears of laughter because of the downpour of rain.
DeleteT
We will never know.
DeleteIt was laughing with tears!
DeleteWhy is she crying? People get emotional. What is there not to understand? It was the end of a long, important and successful tour. Considering their age and health issues, this must have been exhausting. They met so many people, they took part in so many causes that are important to them, they were welcomed so warmly. Now that they leave and hopefully get some rest, thoughts and emotions run through their heads. Yes, people get emotionally. What is there not to understand?
DeleteI read now somewhere that the moment she teared up was when he said: I hope I live long enough to come back.
DeleteJ'aime bien les colliers de fleurs ; dès la première photo, j'ai cru voir du corail !
ReplyDeleteKudos to Queen Camilla--she's had a great wardrobe for this tour. It's obvious the heat and humidity have been a challenge for her but she's remained gracious and engaged despite probably wishing she could have tall, cool drink and some AC. Not sure if or why she has tears in her eyes in the 4th photo. Also her fan is beautiful.
