Britain's King Charles and Queen Camilla were greeted by Samoa's Prime Minister Fiame Naomi Mata'afa, and Foreign Secretary David Lammy as they arrived at Faleolo International Airport in Samoa. The Queen will visit an aoga faifeau (Traditional Samoan Pastor’s School) to see first-hand how pupils are taught to read and write.

    2. Once again: No hat required for a late evening/night arrival! After 5 or 6 pm - no hats. I've commented on that so often now, please note, Anon 15:34

    3. @Anon 15:34 It should be common knowledge, especially to someone that is so keen on hats, that hats are not worn at night. The rule of thumb is to remove the hat at dusk -- especially wide brimmed hats. The wide brim is to shield the eyes and face from the sun, so it would make no sense to wear a hat past dark. If anyone knows hat etiquette, it is the BRF. I think they are the last ones to be questioned.

    4. Hats off to Anon 15:34! Ladies, don't bother with the hat troll. If this is the only fault she/he/it finds, then all is well with the world.

  3. Camilla always looks good in these loose, flowing tunic outfits. They suit her well. I was wondering if we would see her in any during this tour given the warm climate of the Southern hemisphere, and here we are.

    1. I agree. She really suits the flowing chiffony tunics and trousers look. I wonder why she doesn't wear more of the softer materials at home--in summer time at least.

    2. @AnnieM Yes I agree with you. Could it be because she might consider these outfits to be too exotic for the UK? I don't think they are, and she looks very good in them. I recall when she visited Pakistan and India some years ago and she wore some beautiful styles there, including a turquoise one.

  4. When she travels to a country with hot climate Camilla pulls out these kaftan outfits. I love them. She looks great! Pale rose always suits her so well.

  6. Beautiful, flowy outfit from Queen Camilla--and she looks lovely! I think this pale pink shade is beautiful on her. I love the outfits she wears to countries that are hot and humid. I notice she also wears these outfits when she is visiting a country that expects modest dress for women. Really a perfect choice. The King looks good--glad to see he's looking well.

  7. I am in minority here, but this outfit looks like she made a last minute purchase on Temu. Fabric is flimsy and crinkled, it’s a bad cut (tailoring-wise) and appears to be broad in the shoulders for what I think was intended to be a straight cut sleeve.

  9. I have always found Queen Camilla beautiful in her kaftan and pants outfits. The only thing that is not good is that the kaftan is another version of all her dresses : too broad shoulders because of the shoulder pads that are too big. I wonder why her designer does not see it her(him)self ? She is looking wider than she is with such broad shoulders. For such thin fabrics there are thinner shoulder pads that can be used. In the past the big ones were used for winter coats only. Nowadays even winter coats do not have these broad shoulders anymore. Her handbag is less better than those she wore in the beginning of this visit. A silver clutch would have been much better.
