King Philippe and Queen Mathilde concluded their state visit to France with a program divided into two parts: a morning visit to Chantilly and an afternoon visit to Lille. On October 16, the King and Queen, accompanied by French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife Brigitte Macron, visited an exhibition titled 'Louise d'Orléans, First Queen of the Belgians: A Romantic Fate' at the Condé Museum of the Château de Chantilly.

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde then traveled to Lille, where they were welcomed by the Mayor of Lille, Ms. Martine Aubry, and the Prefect of the Hauts-de-France Region, Mr. Bertrand Gaume. The King and Queen attended a luncheon at the Opera House. In the afternoon, the Royal Couple visited the EuraTechnologies site.

I think it is not a coat dress but a coat with a dress underneath.

    3. Hello @Anon 1950
Yes, from other photos on the net, it appears Queen Mathilde is wearing a dress under the coat.

  5. I absolutely love this coat! The line is brilliant for Q. Mathilde. No midline distraction, great vertical lines.

  6. Chic toutes les deux avec une préférence pour madame Macron dans son élégant petit manteau ; le foulard bi-colore apporte une touche de couleurs !

  7. To me QM somehow missed the mark during this visit. I loved the evening dresses but not her day dresses. They felt out of place.

    1. I think that picture no 11 shows that her day attire is just where it needs to be 😊

    3. I agree. Pretty coat that fits queen Mathilde but it is not appropriate for either the event or the season.

It is not because all the others are wearing black or grey that Queen Mathilde should wear it too. She is looking good in bright colors and she has right to wear her beautiful Armani ensemble to visit the exhibition of Louise d'Orléans one of King Philippe's ancesters. She became the first queen of the Belgians under the name of Queen Louise Marie wife of King Leopold I first king of the Belgians.

  10. Such a beautiful look from Armani for Queen Mathilde! Every detail is perfect here and the colors are so lovely and flattering to her. And she's wearing a pillbox hat--my favorite style. She looks outstanding here. Mme Macron's trousers are bit to narrow along the thighs and emphasize how tiny she is but not in a flattering way. It's a rare miss from her for me.

-Dorothe-

  12. I love Queen Mathilde's Armani outfit she was wearing for the first time this year for a rememberance event at the Cenotap in London.

  13. I love Madame Macron's coats - not only this one, but also the others that have already been featured on this site. Something I would wear immediately.
Would it be too presumptuous to ask the authors of the blog to also show photos from the official events of the first ladies? The first ladies of France and Poland in particular are style icons and are more of a fashion inspiration than many royal ladies.

    1. Vraiment ravie que vous évoquiez la première dame de Pologne car comme madame Macron, je me souviens qu'elle a beaucoup de style pour se vêtir !

  16. The ARMANI Jacquard coat is a masterpiece and is being well shown off by Queen Mathilde.
In the area of haute couture, it is a nice example of how the Italians, Belgiums and French can work and live together. More peace please, less wars.
I read that Queen Mathilde’s clutch is by ARMANI.

    1. Hallo deadeggs, Nice to hear again from you.
Queen Mathilde has many clutches by Armani. Lately when she is buying an outfit from an haute couture brand she buys everything from that brand the dress, the coat or jacket, the hat, the handbag or clutch, sometimes even the shoes.

Hope Queen Mathilde gets a good discount when she buys a “job-lot”.
You know, my unlovable mother-in-law and I get along like cat and dog. Unfortunately, she has been quite ill recently and I’ve had to bury the hatchet and do my bit to help the family out.
I take a quick look at NewMyRoyals whenever I can so as to keep up to date with Queen Max’s hair and Duchess Sophie’s hem lengths and other all important topics e.g. bunion spotting, bra problems etc.
I know that my fellow bloggers are working hard to help the royal ladies with their wardrobe wows, disasters, hitting it out of the park and not forgetting the all important “pop of colour”.
Keep up the good work girls (and boys).
Hope to spend more time with you all soon.

  19. The Queen was outstanding with all her outfits on this trip, evening gowns, day outfits, and this one from Armani is a painting on material.
