Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa are hosting the 20th informal meeting of the heads of state of German-speaking countries this year. On the second day of the summit, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of Belgium, Prince Alois and Princess Sophie of Liechtenstein, German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and his wife Elke Buedenbender, and Swiss President Viola Amherd visited the University of Luxembourg's Belval Campus.
Esmeralda Ammoun embroidered coat
Absolutely ridiculous skirt/jacket combo on MT.

DeleteNot an adequate outfit on MTh. Poor girl ....
DeleteI find pic 3 of Maria Teresa and her husband absolutely beautiful and full of charm and joy. She in general seems to be such a kind person. This colour, the bluey grey, is lovely on her. What really scares me is the mannequin in pic 5 against the green screen! No idea why it’s there but jeepers! - Grace
DeleteMT usually wears the most ridiculous outfits and outlandish colors.
DeleteThe Esmeralda Ammoun embroidered coat looks outstanding, I love this! (the dress underneath the coat on the model, stunning)
ReplyDeleteCombined with the black ensemble she looks stunning.
GD MT I like this outfit, she looks modern and chic, and suits her well. Love the pink pantsuit, looks fabulous.
M-T’s skirt appears to be sequined, which seems like an odd choice for this.

GD- the leather jacket and sequin skirt is an odd combination imo, separately they are lovely. Q Mathilde very classy. The princess Liechtenstein has a nice jacket and trousers. Then there is the pink suit. Everyone doing their own thing.
ReplyDeleteOn the hostess, the colors blend on the two pieces, but sequins to a day event are eyebrow raising! Chris L.
ReplyDeleteMathilde in à very elegant coat on her trousers; MT has really no idea how to dress well.

DeleteUnfortunately, I agree with your comment on the Grand Duchess Maria Teresa.
She tries very hard.
She should stop being her own stylist and work with a professional.
MT does seem to be quite stylistically challenged in general.

Totally agree. Always the wrong choices. She should wear more plain dresses in A-line cause she is too short for clothing that's she's wearing today. She needs a new stylist very soon
DeleteGrand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg is looking very beautiful - chic and elegant.
ReplyDeleteThe best dressed lady IMO is the wife of Germany's president - this pink suit is really good for her and for this occassion.
ReplyDeleteMagnifique le manteau brodé de Mathilde ; à mon humble avis, le port du cuir n'est pas à l'avantage d'une personne de petite taille !
ReplyDeleteM-T more and more bad dressed
ReplyDeleteThe only mistake MT has made is the combination of the sequined skirt with the leather jacket. The leather jacket on itself is not bad but is too tight for MT . The skirt is lovely and is combined well with a white shirt, but eventually to wear for afternoon tea (or coffee) with the other ladies. The color of the leather jacket does not suit MT either. She is more lovely with warm colors.
ReplyDeleteActually nothing is bad about her. There are people, who throw others under the bus.
DeleteSequins and leather are styled together sometimes. In some more fashion forward places, women throw a chic black leather moto jacket over cocktail attire. It works when done right. The problems I have with MT's look are the daytime sequins and the style of the jacket with the skirt. I think she looks better than usual. At least this is a fitted outfit. She is usually lost in excess fabric, ruffles, and embellishments.

DeleteHow do I have to understand your comment ? I am confused by your last sentence. I have the feeling that you didn't approve what I said, but it is possible I don't understand what you mean.
Anymway the only thing I wished to explain was that GD Maria-Teresa sometimes does not know what she can wear together and what really suits her. She has some nice and beautiful garments but she does not always know what to wear when.

DeleteWith all due respects, I don't see how the expression fits in here.
Parfois MT frise le ridicule dans ses tenues. Bon c est son choix.

M.T. is so pretty and I love the color of her jacket and skirt. Some might not like the combo of leather and sequins but I kinda like it. She's wearing her hair in a very stylish style and her make up is very glamorous so it all kinda goes together very well. Not boring that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteMrs. Elke, the wife of the German president, proves that very often the wives of presidents are much more elegantly dressed than royal women: let's mention, for example, Madamme Macron and the first lady of Poland Mrs. Agatha Duda.
ReplyDeletePS: Nice pink costume, but I would change the pumps.

The ladies look good. MT's skirt may be a little to festive and the leather or satin jacket not so much. But she can carry it off well. I do like Mathildes coat a lot. Each of the ladies has their own style and they look good wearing them. josebabe
ReplyDeleteInteresting fashion again. Mrs. Elke, Queen Mathilde, and Princess Sophie look lovely in their daytime business styles. Sophie's look is a classic style while Mathilde and Mrs. Elke are a bit more modern. I love Mathilde's coat--and paired with the solid navy blouse and trousers the coat is really beautiful. The pink trouser suit is very pretty. MT--oh dear, oh dear. Sorry but daytime sequins are a no so the outfit is a no for me. Had she paired the leather jacket with something else--perhaps a pair of gray trousers--I would be OK with it. As it is I feel like she's trying to be high fashion but has no idea what that means. Like others I do wish she would hire a stylist to put her very expensive wardrobe right, get rid of items that don't flatter her, and help get alterations that could really improve some of her items.
