On September 10, Grand Duke Henri and Grand Duchess Maria Teresa attended the 80th anniversary of the liberation of the city of Luxembourg during a commemorative ceremony at the Cercle Municipal. Luxembourg was liberated by Allied forces in September 1944. Allied tanks entered the capital city on September 10, 1944, where the Germans retreated without fighting. Luxembourg had been occupied by the Nazis since May 10, 1940. Prince Jean, son of the Grand Duchess and future Grand Duke, served in the Irish Guards from 1942.
This is not too bad, given her propensity of bulky/square outfits. It would have looked even better with the skirt a little shorter. Just a smidge.
ReplyDeleteAdoro la gonna lamè di Maria Teresa!

Great outfit for Grand Duchess Maria Teresa .... beautiful couple ...
ReplyDeleteWho wears that sort of skirt, with a more sporty looking blouse? Half of her is going to a fancy cocktail party, the other half to, I don't know where. Each piece is ok, but not together.
ReplyDeleteThese are both Natan pieces. I don't think that the top looks sporty, but the design does not show to its advantage on MT. It also comes in black, which would have looked better with the skirt.
DeleteThat top is lovely and is right up MT's personal taste and style.

Agree with you @Anon 9.13.
DeleteAnd nice to see her keeping it simple. No add on bits and pieces.
And nice to see her wearing a skirt and giving those baggy pants a break.
She should have worn it as a dress instead of a top. With the right length a white dress like this would have looked perfect. Now wearing it like a top on a darker skirt it cuts her height in 2 parts and she is already short. Her face is looking soft and her hair looks natural.
ReplyDeleteLetzebuergs (Luxemburg language) is funny. It is a mix of German, French and Dutch. In their language they do not say Luxemb(o)urg but Letzebuerg. It is more comprehensive when you can read it. When they speak it, I always have problems to understand them. It depends in which city you are but almost all the habitants of this little country speak also French or German, or both.

ReplyDeleteMT looks good here. I would like her outfit more had the neckline and shoulder area of the blouse been better designed. It's adding too much bulk and would to anyone. The drape area should have been a separate-looking piece with the sleeves being underneath it--and the sleeves should have been fitted. It would have been a much better look for everyone and taken away the bulkiness that wouldn't flatter anyone.

Nice outfit, but for this occasion, she should have worn something else MO only. css
ReplyDeleteHello css.
DeleteIf you were given the job to come up with "something else",
what would you propose?
Très élégante la jupe de Maria-Teresa mais à mon avis, je trouve que le haut n'est pas à son avantage car il l'engonce trop !
ReplyDeleteGD MT looks good here. I like this outfit. The top, shoulder area I love, its feminine. She looks elegant.
