On September 17, 2024, Dutch King Willem-Alexander, Queen Maxima, Crown Princess Amalia, Princess Alexia, Prince Constantijn, and Princess Laurentien attended the annual Prince's Day (Prinsjesdag 2024) at the Royal Theater in The Hague. Since the restoration of the Ridderzaal, the king has been reading the speech from the throne in the Royal Theater on Prince's Day. Prince's Day marks the opening of the Dutch Parliament, which takes place on the third Tuesday in September.

Wow! Gorgeous family! CP CA looks ALL grown up and fabulous! I love Queen Maxima's bow. She's tall enough to pull it off - the color and simple lines of the dress really compliment the large trim. I doubt if anyone else could wear that dress without looking like they are drowning in it. Everyone looks great IMO. Love the Dutch Royals!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree! QM has the personality and height to carry the dress well. Beautiful princesses in lovely dresses! MR
DeleteWhat a pity that Ariane was not there. I like her best of the three sisters.
ReplyDeleteI guess she's too young for the event.
Delete/Sofia
She is in school in Italy
DeleteIn the Netherlands the princesses are only allowed at Prince's day when they are 18. That's why Ariane is not there. Alexia studies in the UK by the way
DeleteI thought she still studied at the Atlantic college in Italy unless she changed this new school year ?
DeleteAnon 22.11, isnt Alexia done with her studies in the UK? I thought she finished at the same time as Leonore of Spain.
DeleteGood heavens that bow! QM beautiful shade of blue. CP AmeliaC looks so beautiful in this green dress and her headband holding her hair back is just the best. What a pretty woman the future queen is. Alexia wears red well. Overall nice to see them out and dressed up.
ReplyDeleteA royal treat for sure! Amalia is stunning and Alexia looks lovely in red. MR
DeleteThe ladies have interesting dresses. I like the unknown lady's purple dress (on the photo with honour guards) and Alexia's red dress the most.
ReplyDeleteMaxima - in my opinion, get rid of the terrible mega-bow and you will be left with a very nice dress.
Stephanie
I agree — imo not even Maxima can wear a freakishly huge bow successfully. I hope that in the future we might see this basically beautiful dress without it.
DeleteAlexia looks the best of all the ladies. The bow is too big - overshades the queen.
ReplyDeleteQuelle belle famille superbement vêtue qui nous montre un choix de couleurs !
ReplyDeleteIndeed wow! The girls really outshone their mum. Beautiful dresses for both and gorgeous colours. Where as Maxima went for a slightly crazy dress, the colour was fine but the bow was too big. Even Laurentien wear something nice. Km
ReplyDeleteWOW Amalia! Regal and beautiful. She steals the show today
ReplyDeletewow Amalia, weight loss looks good on you, best she ever looked!
ReplyDeletems.
I thought too that she lost weight and she looks gorgeous
DeleteBody shaming much? You must feel proud of yourself! I think she looks beautifull now and she looked beautifull before
DeleteAmalia looks fantastic. She really lost weight and it fits her. Nothing wrong to mention it. And it is NOT body shaming. It was so clear that a ridiculous comment like this will appear. OMG. Loosing weight, if you are a little overweight is healthy and good for her condidence and NOT body shaming. Amalia as well as all the other ladies look stunning. Simply beautiful. Stop attacking other people Anonymous 09:03!
DeleteAnon 09.03, it is not body shaming. Rather than stating the she looks very good.
DeleteCrown Princess Amelia is a really beautiful woman. Originally I was not so sure, but something has changed. She is going to become a leading royal in the next years. Watch this unfold.
ReplyDeleteCatharina Amalia’s beauty is beginning to be very noticeable indeed, because she has found a (hopefully safe) way to reduce her weight — and the weight was genetic, not hers or anyone’s “fault”. She will have a happier future now. That is the reality of our world, and I am happy for her. If this comment causes offense, I understand…I just have always hoped that this young woman could find a way to lose the self-consciousness that I sensed was crushing her.
DeleteI don’t like the neckline of the Safiyaa dress … I didn’t like it on Fergie and don’t like it here. The CP and her sister are both astonishingly beautiful. I look forward to seeing how their style develops. Max- well how else could pull off such a huge bow! I just love watching her style, sometimes I love it, sometimes I really don’t but it is fun and interesting and never boring. LRB
ReplyDeleteHello LRB. I've said it before and I'll say it again, fashion and Queen Maxima is an ongoing party. You can't help but love her.
DeleteWow, Princess Amalia looks great in dark green ! She really has lost some weight !
ReplyDeleteThe level of glamour and beauty displayed by the Dutch Royal Family is OFF THE CHART today!! ALL of the ladies look so spectacular! C.P. Catharina Amalia looks so beautiful! I love her dress, the color, the cut and those beautiful gold tone heels are just gorgeous and her sister is so pretty in her red gown!! I could do without the exaggerated bow on Q. Maxima's gown but that's pure Maxima and I can appreciate that fact. They all have done themselves proud and I'm loving it!!

ReplyDeleteI must say CP Amalia looks the loveliest I’ve ever seen her. They all seem to have an extra gleam of elegance for this event.
ReplyDeleteThey all look lovely. Amelia looks beautiful in the green dress and it does appear she has lost weight. The bow on the Queens dress is a bit much but, with her height, she can carry it off. I personally think Alexia thinks far too much of herself. She is not my favorite.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteBased on comments like yours, good for Alexia IF she thinks much of herself. It takes confidence to be in the public eye and even more when people that do not know you make such comments about you online
DeleteThe princesses look gorgeous! I love Amalias hair like this. Very poised but youthful at the same time. She loods beautiful. Proud of our crown princess
ReplyDeleteNow that's a bow! Prefer it without though I'm a less is more kind of gal. They all look great, but Amalia love, love, love. Wow!
ReplyDeleteAnon 20:27.
DeleteEnjoy being a "less is more gal".
It may be difficult but we have to accept that with Queen Max, less is boring.
QM: great dress, lovely color, love the bow, don’t like her shoes nor the loose hair with the hat. PCA looks great, although I don’t like her dress. Too large feet for those type of open shoes. PA: lovely hairdo but not for her ( too large forehead), dress very mediocre. Pink dress PL is hideous as is that hat.
ReplyDelete""Too large feet" , "too large forehead"... are you ok?
DeleteHow look your feet and forehead ?
DeleteVery good, thank you !
DeleteThe weight comments was not necessary. Can't we please stop talking about putting on weight, losing, looking heavy, skinny or whatever. Treat people the way you want to be treated yourself.
ReplyDeleteWhat?! What is wrong with complimenting Amalia (or anyone else, for that matter) for losing weight. I think Amalia looks terrific & I wish to congratulate her. She looks beautiful! Obviously she decided to lose some weight, so keep up the good work, Amalia! ~~Ruthie
DeleteShe does look fantastic. And she did lose some weight. And we can absolutely talk about her and anyone´s body shape. No need to get offended on her behalf. I actually think Amalia would be delighted to read these comments that you find so unnecessary.
DeleteAmalia has a new confidence and like it or not, it's probably because she has lost weight and feels pretty fabulous. Good for her. With the role she's destined to play, confidence is a good thing.
DeleteCinci
@Vanessa I highly doubt Amalia would be pleased to see her weight being discussed. It is impolite to discuss a stranger's weight. She looks stunning and that is all that needs to be said.
DeleteTrust me - if I had lost some weight, I would be thrilled to have someone notice and compliment me on it. These ladies are public figures and they recognize the importance of making a good impression. "long ago", when I worked in public service in a high profile job, my motto was: you never get a second chance to make a "first impression". Well done at this event, Royal Ladies!
DeleteI agree Anonymous 20:32 ❤️ comments about weight are not necessary at all
DeleteI can tell that in Sweden we've come far, we have plus size models and we don't comment weight.
DeleteIn total agreement with you!!! People need to mind their own business!!
DeleteRoyal ladies specially the young one has enough pressure on their shoulders they don't need to read rude weight comments about themselves, to make them feel bad about themselves. Those of us who haven't been lying under a rock remember what pressure did to CP Victoria and Diana. We are grown ups and should start behave like it too.
Delete@Anon 12:47 Very well said. Without knowing her, I can only say that Amalia seems to be self conscious of her body because of of the way she carries herself. She is very reserved and dresses in layers or keeps her coat on maybe longer than she needs to. That alone should be enough to indicate that her body is a sensitive subject. While some people may welcome others noticing a weight loss, it shouldn't be assumed that everyone feels the same way. Victoria and Diana are two examples of what can happen when people focus on things they shouldn't.
DeleteAnonymous 20:32. Agree we should be very careful on how we comment on young people’s weight. You just need to look to the story of Crown Princess Victoria to learn of the terrible pressures of being young, destined for queen, in the public eye and criticised and commented on for imperfections or changes, especially around weight and personal features. It’s plenty for us to comment on the fashion, and today she looks marvellous. - Grace
DeleteGosh, this seems to be very difficult to step down from this carriage in a long gown and high heels. CP Amalia seems to have lost quite a bit of weight. Suits her well. The green gown is beautiful on her. I personally would have made the cutout a bit smaller. Not because I think a young woman cannot show some cleavage but for the proportions of the dress. She is an outstanding beautiful woman wiht amazing facial features from both her parents.
ReplyDeleteMaxima splendide.
Laurentien :(
Paloma.
I like the color and style of Maximas gown, not so much the huge bow. Amalia is a stunner. She looks great, all grown up. I think Sara Ferguson has the same gown. The red gown looks great on Alexis. Time sure flies. Laurentien's gown is nice, maybe a different color, but the hat IMO is a no. css
ReplyDeleteI must say...all three Dutch Royal ladies look amazing. P. Laurentian too.
ReplyDeleteWhen Fergie wor this sane dress just a week or two ago, I didn't like the sleeves on her (and my opinion in that instance remains the same), but here on CP Amalia, the whole dress, sleeves included, looks wonderful. This young princess looks very glamourous and as well she should. She looks happy and healthy, confident and poised, and I could not be more pleased for her.
I love Maxima's dress, and especially the colour, but like many others, I wish that the shoulder bow was a little smaller, or if it had to be that large, that it was less fussy and lay flat more over the shoulders. That said, if anyone could and had to wear this dress, it would be Maxima. Her hair and hat are perfectly understated to off-set the bow.
P. Alexia looks lovely in red but I'd have preferred a different hair style for her. She has such beautiful auburn tresses and a younger style which showed them off in large curls would have been my preference.
No matter though, King WA has every reason to be extremely proud of his three ladies present here today.
- Anon 9:13
(PS I read elsewhere that Q.Maxima was in Argentina very recently to celebrate her mother's 80th birthday. Pictures were included and you can clearly see the family resemblance between them both.)
Ooolala .... CP Amalia is a knock out. The dress, the weight loss, and that beautiful pearl hair band.... She looks so much more confident. Outshines her sister and mother for sure! Do not like QM's big bow, looks so messy, but she looks great!! King Willem and Prince Constantijn look dapper, as usual. Uba
ReplyDeleteI have to say this is best dressed Prinsendag group I have seen in years! If that bow were smaller I think Queen Maxima's outfit would have been perfect--the fit and color are so good.. I really wish she would quit wearing all those platform heels. Amalia looks gorgeous in that beautiful green gown! Everything about her whole look is fabulous and her hairstyle is so elegant. Alexia--WOW! She is stunning. Her hairstyle is perfect for her and her gown. She looks great in red and the style of this gown is marvelous for her. Both of these young women are very beautiful. Laurentian's gown is very pretty and she looks good in the bright pink. One question--hope someone can tell me--why are the young princesses not wearing hats like Maxima and Laurentian?
ReplyDeleteJanet
Now THAT is one big bow!
ReplyDeleteCc P Amalia looks stunning. The green color of her gown, is a lovely shade of green. The gown suits her beautifully. Love her jewellery choice. Princess Alexia looks superb. Apparently I saw elsewhere this gown is one of her mothers. She looks incredible. The color is gorgeous and the design of the gown, is perfect for her. She looks beautiful. Queen Maxima, love, love! her gown. She carries off the large bow perfectly. Love the color of her gown and the style, beautiful presentation. Princess Laurentian's gown looks fabulous. She looks divine, love the color, she wears this well.

ReplyDeleteAdding another wow to the many above. Princess Alexia is a complete stunner and the slimmer CP Amalia is a truly beautiful woman. The huge bow on Queen Maxima’s dress spoils it for me but love everything else about the outfit. Even Princess Laurentien has abandoned her usual preference for wacky and looks good too
ReplyDeleteAnnieM
Oh my. The woman in the baseball cap behind Princess Alexia. That's terribly out of place.
ReplyDeleteThe entire family looks fit, fabulous and happy. And fashionable.
I personally love the bow on Max. She's a fashion wizard making the oddest designs look smashing!
Amalia for the win, she looks absolutely gorgeous. Runner up is Laurentien minus her hat. Nice that Alexia wears a dress worn by her mother more than 20 years ago. Wished that Alexia had a different hairstyle one more befitting for her age. I like Maxima's dress just not the color. I do not like her hairstyle and definitely not the shoes for the occasion. Why wear these hideous gloves with these beautiful dresses, why not wear gloves made of a lighter material?
ReplyDeleteSuzieQ
Oops, I forgot to mention that I find it ridiculous that Alexia wears a "bracelet" that reads: "ginger ass". So wrong and immature on many levels.
ReplyDeleteSuzieQ
Can’t see that bracelet, but she’s a 19 year old girl, still a teenager! - so if we say “immature” that’s right on target developmentally! Let’s give kids every opportunity to be kids and mature naturally. - Grace
DeleteAgree Grace.....
DeleteThere's still some of the "teenager" and mum left in Princess Alexia.
I love the bubble gum blowing demonstation she gave at the Olympic Games in Paris 😁😀
The princesses are going to continue to grow prettier the rest of the decade of their twenties. The gowns are all beautiful. Yes, that shade of pink can get overpowering and your eyes will signal your brain they need a rest. It has been a few years since I found this site and have gotten accustomed to Maxima's style. That is quintessential Maxima. Chris L.
ReplyDeleteヨーク公爵夫人と同じ緑色のドレス。素敵ですが、顔色が悪く見えます。
ReplyDeleteThe camera loves Princess Alexia and Princess Alexia loves the camera. With her glamorous poses she could easily be mistaken for being at the "Met Gala" or a Hollywood Premiere!!!
ReplyDeleteI don't know. To me they always look like some random average people how find it funny to play royals on a fancydress-ball. Too loud, top exaggerated.
ReplyDeleteAgreed.
DeleteThey are all dressed very beautiful.
ReplyDeleteQueen Maxima : beautiful color, beautiful cut, beautiful fabric the bow is a bit too big (but yes this is Natan).
CP Amalia : beautiful dress (Safiyaa is a brand that is loved by the royals lately, CP Elisabeth of Belgium (the short version in pink), Sarah Ferguson, ...). The idea of pearls in her hair is good but not these cheap faux pearls and not the earrings which are simple metal with a gold color (according to the Dutch website of "Modekoningin Maxima"). She looks much better than in her other long gowns.
P. Alexia : a dress that she borrowed from her mother QM. Red suits her any how.
P. Laurentien : a lovely dress, it suits her. More classic lines than we are used from her. Beautiful classic shoes in the same pink. She is the only one who is not wearing sandals. For a formal event I prefer classic pumps with high heels.
Maxima's dress is not by Natan. It is by Claes Iversen.
DeleteAlexis' dress was not borrowed but completely remodelled into a new dress (new neckline, new skirt shape, new fit, etc.) from a dress Maxima wore to Prinsesdag 22 years ago (2002).
- Anon 9:13
Watched it live yesterday. Overal everybody was dressed appropriately. My only niggles are the ugly cheap looking shoes Maxima was wearing and Alexia's chipped nail polish. Alexia managed to look sulky most of the time, whereas Amalia is a true professional.
ReplyDeleteNatascha
I don't think Maxima's shoes are (looking) cheap. These platform sandals has been fashion several times since the 70-s. I don't like sandals for a formal event anyway. I don't care if they wear them with long dresses for an evening out during holidays or to go to the theater or a concert.
DeletePlatform shoes are not in style right now. It would be best for her to closet those shoes until the trend comes around again. Evening sandals are appropriate for formal wear. Sandals look very elegant, but these look clunky when worn out of fashion.
DeletePrincess Laurentien’s hair looks like it is cut with a kitchen scissors
ReplyDeleteI like the color of Maxima’s dress, but the bow on it is much too large. I’m not sure forest green is Amalia’s best color, and I don’t care for the long, medieval-looking sleeves on her dress, but she is lovely as usual. Alexia looks good in red. Her hair style seems a little dated with the volume on top, but lovely nonetheless. The dress code for this event is interesting, with long dresses and some ladies wearing gloves and/or hats but not all.
ReplyDelete-Royal Watcher
I really want to comment again, that CP Amelia is a very beautiful woman.
ReplyDeleteAbout the jewelry of P Laurentien, I read on the Dutch website concerning the royals that she borrowed earrings and a brooch from Queen Maxima. If you take a close look, the earrings are made of rose quartz and the brooch probably pink diamond or another pink precious stone surrounded by diamonds. (Not very visible on this site).
ReplyDeleteMaxima; Dress colour ok, bow, over the top tooooo large, screaming, look at me, look at me. Hair, not well done, and shoes, old fashioned stacked heels are out.
ReplyDeleteKing; nicely turned out, as are the daughters.
Edwina
Alexia's dress is a vintage dress. She worn it from Queen Maxima's closet. Queen Maxima worn the dress 22 years ago by her first 'Prinsjesdag'.
ReplyDeleteAll ladies look standing!
What a feast for the eyes. The royal ladies of the Netherlands did not disappoint. They each brought their A game.
ReplyDeleteComing from a positive position,it would be remiss not to mention how much weight Catharina Amalia has lost.No mean feat! She’s worked hard and I for one say all kudos to her! She looks stunning!
Alexia is a natural beauty for sure. She looks very much like her momma.Thought it sweet for her to swear one of her dresses.Similarly to what CP Victoria does,in wearing Queen Silvia’s dresses.
There’s no other royal lady who could pull off a bow this size, and look elegant doing so.
I thought Laurentine choice was kind of low key for her.She normally wears something out side the box.But her choice today was lovely. The color and shape gave us a refund final look.
Lowri.
Me too, Lowri. I'm a bit disappointed in Princess Laurentine.
DeleteI love her zany fashion combos.
Maybe she didn't want to take the spotlight from the others.
Alexia is the star here. She looks beautiful in the red. Her hair is styled perfectly. Thank goodness she does not have a giant bow on her dress which is quite silly looking on Maxima.
