On September 25, 2024, Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands attended the anniversary event 'Inclusive Finance for Development – 15 Years of Impact' during the 79th Session of the United Nations General Assembly at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City. The anniversary event celebrates 15 years of remarkable progress in financial inclusion, highlighting its pivotal role in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The event was co-hosted by the Permanent Missions of the Republic of India, the Republic of Indonesia, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Peru, the Republic of the Philippines, and the United Republic of Tanzania to the UN.
This is a prime example of the difference a hairstyle can make. I honestly don't know what options she has, or if she truly looks in the mirror and thinks it looks okay sometimes when it does not. I like Queen Maxima a great deal, but her hair can be distracting and the fact that she has moments of absolute beauty means that she understands and knows how to accomplish that. I just suppose that sometimes she just does not care as much as other occasions. Traveling can be difficult as well, to her credit. Perhaps she does not have a hair and make-up team with her on this trip.

I think sometimes she just wants to wear her natural hair. When it's a business, not a royal, occasion, she also most certainly doesn't have a hair and makeup team with her.
DeleteHi Cinci, I think you’re right. If Maxima always wanted to be perfectly coiffed, she would be, as she effectively has unlimited resources. The fact that she is frequently not must mean that she prefers not to. And that’s great - approachable, real, priorities to the things she perceives matter more. Some may choose or feel obliged to always look perfect, but I very much admire those who let their humanness and normality shine through. More power to those who are frequently photographed and confident enough to show themselves as who they are! - Grace
DeleteGreat outfit. She looks tired from her very busy week at the UN. Nice suit on the king
ReplyDeleteShe arrived on Monday the 23rd. The pictures we see here are from yesterday Wednesday the 25th. Yesterday was the third day she was in New-York, not a week. If she looks tired she must have arrived that way.
DeleteI like her top and pants.
What , anonymous 6:28?!? … have you tried intercontinental jet lag?! It’s exhausting for the best of us, and so much more so when you have to turn up for business and focus through the days! - Grace

DeleteFirst, my answer was not for you.
Secondly, anonymous 01:35 said "she looks tired from her very busy week at the UN". On Wednesday Queen Maxima was not a week at the UN, but 3 days. That's all.
I don't know what it is here lately, but if one must repeat every comment 2 times before you guys understand what I've said, it makes me tired. As far as I know 3 days is not a week.
How come everyone seems to be very tolerant for Queen Maxima lately ? Maybe they noticed that it makes no effect on Queen Maxima if someone is repeating endless the same remarks, about her hair, her fantasy jewelry, her hats, etc...
Delete0628, my mistake should of said days, preparing and participating in meetings
DeleteFrom what I can see, this outfit looks nice. The color is gorgeous on the Queen, suits her well.
ReplyDeleteThe color looks fabulous on Maxima. And I think she needs to get a long string of Lapis beads to wear with this blouse next time. The blue of her lanyard really looks good with the orange.
ReplyDeleteIt is not orange but red.
DeleteCan look orange or red depending but just on the light but how an individual eye’s/brain perceives it. Someone’s opinion on colour doesn’t need to be corrected by another in the casual FUN comments of a fashion blog, eh?!
DeleteSince I always read the Dutch blog "Modekoningin Maxima" and it was said the dress was red, I simply repeated what the real color was.
DeleteSuperbe tenue pour ma reine préférée
ReplyDeleteElle devrait attacher ses cheveux,
Meme une simple queue de cheval suffirait.
Froufrou
I’m no fan of QM but this is a stunning outfit, great color, hair not too messy 😀
ReplyDeleteQ.M. looks gorgeous!! I agree with the previous comment that lapis beads would looks great against the orange.
ReplyDeleteUne couleur lumineuse qui met la beauté de Maxima en valeur ; je ne vois pas ce qu'elle a fait à ses cheveux mais elle a su améliorer leur coiffure !
ReplyDeleteLOL a few post down we see Sophie with pretty much the same hair and not a nasty comment in sight. So Maxima prefer her hair naturally. Deal with it. I don't blame her styling it every day takes time, not to mentioned wears on the hair.
ReplyDeleteSophie the same hair???
DeleteI think maybe twice as much: thick, natural curly hair.
O, I envy her!, but not so much Q.M. with her very thin hair, of which she makes the best.
@ Anon. 18;48
DeleteSophie's hair is not that thin as Maxima's, but she has not thick hair, but normal hair. It is not natural because she has had treatment to have more blond hair. About her curls ? Are you with her before she is going out ? It is not difficult to make curls with the right materials.
Great look from Queen Maxima! Love the outfit--not sure if its separates or a jumpsuit. Great color and fit. I think she looks wonderful here. Very pretty too!
ReplyDeleteJanet
One of her better looks. Red is a good color for Maxima.
