The Duchess of Edinburgh is making a five-day visit to the United Republic of Tanzania, at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office. On September 16, the Duchess arrived in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. On September 17, the Duchess visited British High Commission staff in Dar es Salaam, during her five-day trip to Tanzania. Later, the Duchess visited the Magomeni Health Center to hear about the local state of health services.

The Duchess looks fabulous! Great choices from hair style to dress and shoes. Sophie appears to have great social skills. MR
ReplyDeleteThis is quite a long tour/visit for Duchess Sophie.
DeleteI’m sure that the Duchess and her wardrobe team have been well informed on weather conditions for this time of the year in Tanzania.
Tanzania is just south of the equator and has a moderate tropical climate.
The country enjoys cooling breezes from the Indian Ocean.
The Duchess is visiting at the end of the dry season which usually finishes in October.
I imagine there'll be light and colourful fabrics. I’m anxious to see.
Sophie looks so pretty in this gorgeous dress.
ReplyDeleteNice dress, great hair. As usual, the unflattering length spoils the overall look. Doesn’t prevent her being a star!
DeleteAgree and agree with An of 01:18 - the length is the only thing which slightly spoils the look.
Deletevery nice dress. She looks really good. css
ReplyDeleteSociety is lovely and her kindness shows through
ReplyDeleteThis dress is fabulous, fits well and perfect for the occasion. She looks so sincere and lovely.

ReplyDeleteLove this dress on Duchess Sophie. The accessories and jewelry are simple and classy. She looks pretty and natural.
ReplyDeleteShe is a very hard working member of the Royal Family, and seems to have a lovely friendly manner with all the people she meets..... No doubt about that!!.. However I do wish she had a stylist that would pull her look together, to tweak her hair, shoes and dress to make it all work together.
ReplyDeleteShe is truly King Charles's "Secret weapon" and that is a compliment to behold!
ReplyDeleteThought King Charles secret weapon is Camilla.
DeleteHello FITZHUGH.
DeleteYes - well said.
Camilla...secret weapon....not a very good one.
DeleteCamilla is amazing at her role. I still marvel at someone taking on a very public royal role so late in life, and with such energy and kindness. Sophie is lovely too, a hard worker, and has had so much more time than Camilla to grow into her role; which she appears to do beautifully. - Grace
DeleteNormally I like Giambattista Valli's design, but this dress it looks like he designed it specially for Duchess Sophie. Shirt dress which is worn too long as usual.
ReplyDeleteAnon 10:55. Duchess Sophie's dress seems a bit "tame" to be one of his designs.
DeleteLooking at his work, he seems to be quite heavy with his prices.
Elégante robe chemise mais à mon humble avis, avec quelques centimètres en moins Sophie aurait encore plus d'allure !
ReplyDeleteHello Achard62. (chère Tulipe)
DeleteI have come to the conclusion that the length of the skirt/dresses of Duchess Sophie is British fashion for women of a certain standing.
See photos of the royal ladies and others at Liechtenstein's National Day 2024.

A word or two on this designer plus some photos of his work.

A few years ago, Queen Mathilde and Princess Caroline wore the same dress by this designer. They look both beautiful in the dress. It looked a bit like the botanical dresses, but the cut was different than the botanical dresses in his collection of 2024.
DeleteSophie looks marvelous in this dress--her whole outfit is wonderful. She's also looking lovely--hair and makeup are perfect. So glad to see her out and about after her summer break.
