Not bad, but also not too flattering. Could have done better.

I agree, an evening dress, mid-length, would have been more suiting for this kind of event. The hostess looks more well dressed than the guest of honor.

      @ms
Please no she wears already enough mid-length dresses and not only during the evening.

  2. La couleur lie-de-vin de ce haut froncé est parfaitement combinée avec le gris de ce pantalon ; j'aurais aimé mieux voir ses boucles d'oreilles ?!

I think she was well dressed but not for presenting an award. If she wished to wear pants why not wear a beautiful woolen pant suit, which I think she has in her ward robe.

  4. I think this is lovely. The two pieces complement each other well, and they are a great choice for Sophie and for the season. Maybe not the best choice for the occasion though. An award ceremony maybe called for something a bit more festive. As a result, Sophie looks slightly underdressed (but stylish).

Maybe if she had tied the neck a bit closer together it would of looked better. Colours are great on her, pants fit nicely

Yes, and maybe a nice necklace or a brooch.

Absolutely love these garments on Sophie, especially the blouse (I want it!) — but I do agree that a slightly more formal look would perhaps have been better here. No issues at all other than that.

This is what she wears to The Q E II Award for British Design at an event hosted by the British Fashion Council?? Wow! Her outfit is great for an office job, not for this occasion. Rem

The blouse and pants colours compliment each other, however, the blouse 'ties' look sloppy, as do the wide-cut pants.

Nice autumn colors on Sophie. The award itself is a beautiful sculpture, perhaps she let it take center stage. Chris L.

Sadly, the wide cut pants are trending right now. And I am not a fan of Beckam's clothes. Love the color combination, but agree with others, she needed a more dressy outfit - a matched pantsuit would have been great. And Sophie looks better in pants than those long midi shirts she is fond of.

  12. I love the outfit on her. The colors are beautiful and the pants fit her perfectly. The only thing I am not sure of is the tie on the top. Those ties are really difficult to know just how tight to tie them.

Love the outfit--beautiful autumn outfit. I think Sophie looks really good here but...I do agree that perhaps she is a bit underdressed. I hope to see this outfit again--together as well as matched with other separates.

Really nice outfit for the Duchess. Far more flattering than the mummy dresses she wears ( which could be great if they were several inches shorter) while the trousers and blouse look great, the event surely needed a more formal dress

  15. The ladies on each side of the Duchess seem to be “correctly” dressed for the occasion.
I'd keep the pants but go for something much dressier for the top.
Smart blazer for example, topped off with a Square from Hermès *
Anyway, “to err is human, to forgive is divine”.
And remember, perfect people are not well liked people.
p.s Duchess Sophie had been and is still doing admirable work for the BRF.
    Bravo madam

The color is nice and strong. The neckline makes the blouse too casual. Maybe a different style would have been better. Pants fit nicely. css
