I want to like this suit but find the pants are just too wide for her height. Love the colour and the blouse, even the double breasted jacket. Perhaps if the jacket was open like on the model it wouldn’t bunch the pants.

Fully agree with your comment. Make-up and hair are spot on here and gives the DoE a beautiful, sweet look.

    4. I have to disagree. Double breasted jackets are meant to wear closed. They never look good worn open. It may work on the model, but only because she has one hand in the pocket and thus pulls one side back. This is only for posing. In real life - do not wear a double breasted blazer open.

I think the Duchess really looks good in this well fitted suit. Vince is an excellent classic designer. Nice soft color pallet. Please wear more pant suits.

Sophie looks beautiful here--perfect color palette (the soft, pale blue is gorgeous on her). She looks great in this trouser suit with a chic chignon. She also looks like she is really enjoying herself too!

  10. Belle allure dans ce tailleur-pantalon ; j'aime la couleur de ses boucles d'oreilles pendantes !

  11. I like the jacket, but not the trousers. These are too wide, both for her and for the proportions of the suit. I remember this cut fromt the 80s and don´t necessarily need it to return. A straight cut would have been lots better. Also, I think this outfit needs some colour. The pale green blouse is a totally random choice and doesn´t match at all, the gray purse is lifeless. A crisp white blouse would have improved the overall look a lot, and a contrasting purse (wine red maybe?) would have elevated it further.
The plaid in itself was a good choice for this kind of engagement as it has a country-vibe about it. Also, I agree that she does look happy and engaged, and touring a vineyard in glorious sunshine is a beautiful thing in itself.

You are right Vanessa. The trousers have not a good cut and are too short. A wine red blouse and handbag would have been the perfect color to open a vineyard and to give some contrast on the light grey pant suit. Like I said the other day, she is looking so much better with her hair loose. I don't like the little bun in her neck. It makes her look so much older.

she should have worn on her official engagements aboard, for the vineyard her usual floral maxis would be more suitable

Summer is over. Her usual floral maxis are in her closet waiting until next Summer.

She looks great in this suit. The blouse gives a little delicate pop of colour… very lovely. I like her hairstyle too. I find that her hair tied back suits her better than when it’s loose.

Le chemisier (bleu pâle ?) me plaît mais on le voit à peine. Ce costume est trop grand pour elle et trop masculin. Paloma.

This makes her look huge, which she isn’t - there is the oversized look and then there is the ‘just too big’ look. To me this is the later. It just feels like it is too big and too baggy everywhere - and the oversized look (imo) only really works on younger women who are tall and lanky. I am a similar age, height and size to Sophie and I have worked out this look doesn’t work on me. LRB

  16. The trousers are too bulking with the pleats which then make them too wide, shame. The colour toning's are so lovely on her. Yes I must agree she looks very happy of late. Who is that handsome man with her?

  17. She is lovely. I think the fashion trend now is to have wide leg pants. It might work for someone really tall and thin but not everyone can pull it off.

Nice suit, though personal preference would be to bring in the width of the pants, and add a few darts in the jacket.
