King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the consecration of two new bishops

On September 22, 2024, King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia attended the consecration of two new bishops at Uppsala Cathedral. The consecration was conducted by Archbishop Martin Modéus in the presence of the King and Queen, foreign guests, and the bishops of the Church of Sweden. Teresia Derlén was consecrated as bishop of the Diocese of Härnösand, and Ulrica Fritzson as bishop of the Diocese of Skara. Uppsala Cathedral is a church of the Lutheran Church of Sweden and the seat of the Archbishop of Uppsala, the primate of Sweden.

    What beautiful vestments. The king and queen are dressed appropriately, I am not sure about the light coloured hat. Perhaps if it had a bit a black somewhere it would tie in better.
