On September 28, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended a memorial ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the sinking of the passenger ferry MS Estonia. The ceremony took place at the Estonia Monument on Djurgården in Stockholm. The ferry sank while on a voyage from Tallinn to Stockholm on September 28, 1994. A total of 852 people died, 501 of whom were from Sweden. The sinking of the MS Estonia was the deadliest civilian maritime disaster in Europe since the Second World War.
The world will never forget the tragedy of Estonia!
ReplyDeleteYes, the sinking of the MS Estonia was very tragic, I still remember it as it unfolded. Very sad. But... Silvia is dressed quite nicely. ~~Ruthie
DeleteQS coat fits her well, room to put a heavier garment underneath without it pulling
ReplyDeleteAfter all this time, it still is painful. Never forget to tragedy. Silvia looks very nice as always.

I remember living in Paris at the time of the tragedy, and at the time there was no internet... Many ex-pats would gather at the Swedish church to read the Swedish newspapers there. It was unimaginable, horrifying and extremely sad. RIP all victims.
ReplyDeleteSilvia a su choisir le manteau idéal pour assister à cette commémoration !
ReplyDeleteThe black coat fits well and the brooch is a welcome addition. I love the blouse she is wearing, pussy bow, very attractive.
