Sweden's King and Queen Attend Memorial Ceremony at the Estonia Monument

On September 28, King Carl XVI Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden attended a memorial ceremony marking the 30th anniversary of the sinking of the passenger ferry MS Estonia. The ceremony took place at the Estonia Monument on Djurgården in Stockholm. The ferry sank while on a voyage from Tallinn to Stockholm on September 28, 1994. A total of 852 people died, 501 of whom were from Sweden. The sinking of the MS Estonia was the deadliest civilian maritime disaster in Europe since the Second World War.

      Yes, the sinking of the MS Estonia was very tragic, I still remember it as it unfolded. Very sad. But... Silvia is dressed quite nicely. ~~Ruthie
