On September 19, Queen Letizia of Spain attended the fourth edition of the 'Retina ECO Awards' ceremony, organized by Retina in collaboration with Capgemini. The award ceremony took place at the Queen Sofía National Museum Art Centre in Madrid. The Queen presented the awards to the winners of the fourth edition of the Retina ECO Awards: Cimico, Mapfre, Nortegas, ABB, and Sepiia. They were recognized for having the best projects of 2023 in the fields of sustainability and climate change through the use of technology.
Carolina Herrera Belt Detailed Denim Dress
As always Queen Letizia looks wonderful--she would look great in a burlap sack. I love the style of this dress on her and it is perfectly fitted. I love that she chose red accessories to add a pop of color. Here is what is bothering me--the dress is a denim dress. Maybe it is just me but I don't see even a beautifully crafted dress like this one to be anything other than totally casual because of denim fabric. When I look at the other attendees in dressier clothes and men in business suits I cannot help but think this dress was not a good choice for this event. I love the dress but not for what's an official rather business-like event.

Agree! Letizia appears to have wanted to present a very plain, pared-down look for this event, and she certainly succeeded; I guess she had her reasons but I feel she went slightly overboard. — Jane
DeleteBeautiful Lady. These pictures do not do her dress justice. This is one of Letizia's staple silhouettes, the fit and flare. The denim fabric adds volume but is balanced out by the cinched waist. The top stitching is an added detail. The red accessories add just the right touch.

This dress really looks very good. I love the style, it has some interesting features. The skirt especially is wonderful, moves well as she walked. The red shoes and clutch, are perfect additions.

ReplyDeleteAlthough a bit dark this denim dress with red accessories is not bad at all. Much better than the black pants and white shirts she is wearing lately. The lady who sits on the right of the queen with the grey checkered dress and odd neckline does not look lovely. I don't like the dress at all.

La forme de la robe est jolie, j'aime moins le tissu en jean denim (j'ai le même avis que Janet). J'adore ses accessoires rouges, c'est le petit détail qui fait tout ! Je n'aime pas les deux robes vertes.
