Princess Christina and Tord Magnuson welcomed Queen Sonja for lunch at the Royal Palace in Stockholm. Queen Silvia was scheduled to accompany Queen Sonja to the exhibition opening, but had to cancel her participation due to a private funeral within the Sommerlath family. The King and Queen of Sweden are in Germany to attend the funeral of Queen Silvia's brother Rolf Sommerlath's wife, Charlotte Sommerlath.

A great look for Queen Sonja, what a wonderful shade of blue. Modern jewels and good hair make it very hard to believe she is 87

Silvia had cancelled, she had to go her sister-in-law's funeral.

  4. A mon humble avis, je trouve que la reine Sonja est élégante dans la robe dans les tons noir et gris joliment ceinturée ; j'adore son collier à grosses perles !

Princess Christina is always lovely to see. Not sure of QSonja stocking with the dark dress and I am not a fan of those shoes. She seems to favour them so they must be comfortable. Love the blue outfit.

Although I do not like peplums, Queen Sonja looks good in her blue top and pants. I would have chosen a lace top without the peplum. The dress in grey and black looks very elegant. A pity she wore the shoes and tights she wears almost every Winter. I don't like the style of the shoes and the color of the tights. But that's my personal opinion. She does look elegant and good for her 87 years. There are royals who don't look as good and are much younger.

-Dorothe-

  10. Actually, to be honest, I like neither of Sonja´s outfits. The blue one is a bit electric in colour, but more importantly, it is off in terms of proportions. The gray-and-black one is a flattering cut, but the colours are depressing and the colour-blocking is a bit jester-like. The stockings don´t help either.
Princess Christina looks comfortable. Jacket and shoes aren´t bad but not especially flattering either.
So, I think her husband Tord is best dressed here, looking dapper and stylish, though I wish he had fastened one more button.

Q.Sylvia has dressed so much better than this before that I find neither of these two outfits particularly attractive compared to others she's worn. The colours and styling don't do it for me. Clothing aside, she remains one of my fav royal ladies.

Lovely suit great color too. I also like the gray dress, not so much the shoes. I don't know what to compare them too. For a lady of 87 she looks fantastic.

Queen Silvia and King Carl Gustav are not in Germany but in Belgium. Queen Silvia's sister in law and her husband Queen Silvia's brother live in the German speaking part of Belgium, near the city of Eupen where the funeral takes place. They are known by the people of that region as very simple and friendly people who are living a very quiet live.

Sonja is a fantastic Queen, 87 years young still going strong. Looks absolutely fabulous.
