On September 24, 2024, Queen Sonja of Norway, together with First Lady Brigitte Macron, attended the Dior Women Ready-to-Wear Spring-Summer 2025 show as part of the 2024 Paris Fashion Week. Queen Sonja visited Paris for the opening of the exhibition 'Harriet Backer, The Music of Colors' at the Musée d'Orsay and was a guest of Brigitte Macron. Harriet Backer was one of Norway's most prominent painters of the 19th century and a pioneer among women artists in Europe.
Sonja herself is dressed almost "19th century", but it works & she looks quite nice. I love the cute jacket on the lady standing to her right. ~Ruthie

Queen Sonja looks beautiful in her black dress and soft pink shawl. She is such an elegant lady. Mme Macron looks marvelous in black suit. I don't know who the third lady is in the photos but she too looks great.

حذفAll three ladies look lovely. First Lady Brigitte never disappoints - classic and chic and the suede heels and nylons accent her beautiful legs. Plus her excellent posture. (yes, I'm a tad envious since I am close her age.) Queen Sonja's soft pink pashmina is a lovely accessory to break up her black. Hair perfectly coiffed, but I don't really like the shoes. So many other choices today of stylish pumps with either kitten or low block heel for her comfort and safety.

Why “granny” scarf? She is 87 and she is a grandmother, old enough to be a great grandmother too. Although she truly qualifies for the title Granny, I wouldn’t use it negatively against her! The photos are a bit unclear but I think she has coordinated soft pink earrings, matching belt and the pashmina … and in European autumn, on an older slender lady, a cosy wrap for warmth and a bit of colour is more important than being perfectly in tune with modern/young fashion tastes .. don’t you think?! - Grace

حذفYou could be surprised what older ladies wear sometimes. In fact there is no age anymore to dress like a grany. Younger women are sometimes dressed older than a granny of 80 years old. In general I love Queen Sonja's outfits. I'd prefer her in one of her beautiful jackets/short coats instead of the pashmina. She usually is not afraid to wear red or yellow and her hair is done very good this time.

Although I usually like Queen Sonia‘s dignified style, I find her pink shawl overpowering so that the ensemble looks very loaded and not very flattering.

I can imagine they must be very comfortable since she is wearing them every winter. I love the style of the queen's hair. She looks a lot younger than her real age.

ردحذفI like the pink shawl, picture 3 seems to show the true colour which doesseem to be washed out. Mdm Macron always in a perfectly tailored outfit, though the skirt could be a tad longer to give a more polished look. I am sorry but the full hair makes her look like a bobble head. I like how she looks in that style but perhaps an inch or so shorter off her shoulder would be better imo

It is not a secret, Mme Macron has been wearing a 'wig' for a very long time, imo it looks silly. The wig is too bulky and very poorly fitted, you can clearly see a demarcation on top of her head.

I prefer Madame Macron in a skirt that is called too short (to me it is not too short, since she has a petite size and beautiful legs), than Princess Anne in a skirt that is too short (see the commemoration in Arnhem).
ردحذفThere is nothing wrong with Mme Macron's hair either, she has a perfect bob. Not everyone likes to wear long hair separated in the middle. She has every right to stay true to her own style like anybody else.
On the monitor I have access to, the third photo of the shawl is better, and the others are washed out. One can see some sort of damask weave and perhaps a fine finish on the thread/yarn. It is a better made shawl, not homespun or granny. Love the buttons and the overall style of Mme Macron's suit. I also like the ensemble on Directrice Arnault. Chris L

It is in French but you should be able to get it into English (if you need to) with a translation in your computer.
