  1. I'm not sure if its the white colored fabric around the middle, elsewhere is heavily colored, this dress doesn't look as good as it could. I prefer the 2nd outfit from what i can see.

Elegant, lovely and engaged, as always. Her clothes are beautiful but also appropriate.

I agree with your comments but also with Ava’s comment about the placing of the white panel. However, the colour is gorgeous. Great to see her working on this kind of initiative

I think the way Mathilde’s hair is styled in the last picture looks so much more flattering on her. She is a lovely woman.

In fact the last picture is the one of the 1st evening (on Friday) when Queen Mathilde hosted a dinner for the group of SDG advocates who work with her. The other pictures where she wears the dress is from Saturday. After a night of sleep her hair was probably not styled as good as on the first day.

Agree, Royal Watcher! I’d love to see her sporting that style more frequently; suits her beautifully - Grace

Mathilde's dress is ... nice. I think the pattern would have suited her body type better if it had just been configured so that the white swath fell elsewhere on the dress. Still, it's a perfectly respectable look. But ultimately, I just don't care what she wears to these events. I wish she would deploy her talents elsewhere, rather than giving the royal stamp of approval to an organization in which the world's top 0.01% make decisions for everyone else on the planet. I wish I could care about the fashion, but these photo ops turn my stomach.

Maybe people who live in Africa and Asia are happy with the help of the UN projects to save their agricultural problems, water irrigation projects, help with the building of schools, help for women and little children who are not receiving the health care they need, and many more.... A number of the women in her group are living in such countries. If they didn't wish the help of Western queens, princesses, actors, celebrities, rich people, .... they wouldn't be there. Queen Mathilde is regularly visiting these countries, to see if the situation has developed for the better, ..... to see how the UN in general and Belgium in particular, can help in these projects and to control on the spot if the projects in which Belgium is already envolved are coming to a good end. I think we may be happy to live in a country that don't need the help of projects which has to be made for them by the U.N. Queen Mathilde has enough talents to use as well in Belgium as abroad, which she does. She is a hard working royal lady. Although she and King Philippe do not belong to the richest royal families in the world, they do more than they their share. They also brought up their children in that spirit, their children have been told that if one wish to achieve something valuable in life one has to work for it. Look at CP Elisabeth who is also such a hard working young lady. In time her brothers and her sister will also find their goal in life and do something in the same spirit they have seen from their parents.
By the way if you want to help in one of the U.N. projects you can always send your CV to the headquarters in New York and maybe they will find a job for you which fits your qualities.

Your sentiments are very well stated. I couldn’t put my finger on why these situations bug me, but you clarified the event beautifully. Next they’ll go (private) jetting to Davos which turns my stomach.

The world forum in Davos and the UN are two completely different organisations.
I also wish to draw your attention on the UN subjects of the panel discussions of this year : "Queen Mathilde opened a panel discussion on gender equality and women's rights". Belgium co-organised a side-event on the fight to end violence against women. Queen Mathilde delivered the opening speech. These are international subjects and affect not only women in Africa and Asia, but women all over the world, even in the "rich" Western world. For subjects like this they cannot make enough decisions for everyone else on the planet. Maybe you are a man who doesn't feel the need to do something for the safety of women. In general poor women and girls who are under aged (minors), women who cannot defend themselves (for 1001 reasons), women who have fear,...who didn't had the opportunity to go to school long enough to become independant. They are the first victims ....
You should taken something for you stomach. It doesn't look healthy to me if it makes you feel sick each time serious subjects are to be discussed.

She can always dress so well, but this orange dress is not a great choice for her. I think it is the neckline and arms. Also, perhaps the patterns are too bold.

On the 3rd picture on the left one can see Diane von Fürstenberg, the designer who is standing on the right side of Queen Mathilde. She is also one of the SDG advocates.

    1. Thanks Anon 11:24 for pointing that out.
I would not have otherwise recognized her.
No doubt her outfit would be from her fashion house.
Wasn’t she the creator of the “wrap dress” in the 70's ?
In two years she’ll be 80 years old.

What a surprise to see the late Namibian president’s widow, philanthropist and businesswoman Monica Geingos (pictures 2, 3 and the last one). She is an elegant and stylish lady, often setting trends (modest, modern, whilst incorporating traditional elements).

Queen Mathilde looks lovely in both outfits, I wish we could see more of her suit.

I do like this dress on the queen, the colour is nice. The first time she worn it it seems to me it looked better on her. Maybe it had a belt to break up the white.

The United Nations must be buzzing with so many visitors and Dignitaries in place. I like Q Mathildes dress just right for the occasion. Not a fan of DvF pantsuit.
