On September 4, 2024, Queen Mary of Denmark attended The Carlsberg Foundation’s annual gala dinner and 2024 Research Awards ceremony at the New Carlsberg Glyptotek in Copenhagen. Professor Rubina Raja and Professor Jesper Qualmann Svejstrup were awarded the Carlsberg Foundation’s Research Prizes for 2024. The prizes were presented by Queen Mary and Danish Minister for Education and Research Christina Egelund during a ceremony at the New Carlsberg Glyptotek.
Professor Rubina Raja received the prize for her extensive archaeological studies, which span from urban communities and networks in the ancient world to iconography in the oasis city of Palmyra. Professor Jesper Qualmann Svejstrup was awarded the prize for his groundbreaking research into the molecular 'machine' that transcribes our genes.
What a lovely dress, nice colour, fits well. I prefer this type of skirt to form fitting.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty dress. Is that a little grey hair Mary is choosing to show in pic 1? - Grace
ReplyDeleteThat’s the light reflecting on her hair, not grey colour.

Above her left ear the grey hair is appearing through her auburn coloring. With her hair down it would not be visible.
DeleteQueen of fashion and Denmark!
ReplyDeleteIndeed, she nails it 99.9% of the time! Hair down to shoes and bag! Gorgeous! MR
DeleteThat's a beautiful dress and Mary wears is well, as to be expected. My only comment is whether it is formal (or 'special') enough for an evening Gala dinner honoring such learned accomplishments by learned people. Her look seems too casual and if anything, more suited to a daytime lunch event. A simple dark coloured dress (of which Mary has many) would, I think, have been more fitting and appropriate.

I disagree this beautiful lacy gives it a classy look.
DeleteHello Anon 9:13. The same thought crossed my mind.
DeleteOne could say the dress has a summer informal look about it.
Although the occasion is not a black tie event, it is, however, the gala, annual dinner of the Carlsberg Foundation.
Leaving that question apart, the dress is superb and worn well by Queen Mary.
It is a good example of what can come out of an Australian fashion house.

Lovely dress----summery and light as we head into the duller autumn days. The plain red dress worn by the other lady is nice too
ReplyDeleteGreat to see Mary wear this dress again .it's one of my favourites. Mary
ReplyDeleteQueen Mary always looks so lovely in this pretty dress--it's one of my favorites in her closet. She looks quite elegant here.

This is a very pretty and feminine dress. The blue accessories are beautiful. She looks very elegant.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely dress. Q Mary looks fantastic wearing it. css
ReplyDeleteBeaucoup de féminité dans cette robe que Mary a combinée judicieusement avec des accessoires bleu !
ReplyDeleteLovely dress. Very appropriate for the circumstances. The other ladies are far from well dressed (no dress code ?). Isn't it the normal procedure for a gala evening ?

ReplyDeleteEllen, the comb is GORGEOUS!! BEAUTIFUL!!
DeleteNice dress. Don't like the neckline or the sleeves, but the styling is perfect.
ReplyDeleteUnusual to see Mary wear a dress like this without a belt. Maybe she found out it got a little too much to add a belt to almost any outfit - probably to create a waist.
